BLURB:
Accountant and financial advisor Lacey Chamberlain doesn’t consider herself a control freak. She’s merely a planner—orderly, neat, and content in her tidy little life. When a marketing firm moves into the empty office next door, the loud-music-playing, stinky-food-ordering, kickball-in-the-hall staff make Lacey crazy.
Marketing expert Alicia Wright is spontaneous, flies by the seat of her pants, and lives in the moment—all the things Lacey is not. She’s also gorgeous, thoughtful, and seems determined to make Lacey like her.
They say opposites attract, but for how long? And is that really a good idea?
STORY REVIEW:
This is my first time reading anything by Georgia Beers and unfortunately I felt like there was just something missing from this one. I am thinking this is a case of “its me not you,” but I I found myself very bored overall even though the story itself was not bad. It was just very slow and too “a day in the life” for me. There was a lot of time dedicated to the everyday details of Lacey’s life and very little actually dedicated to the romance.
I also felt like I was missing a good portion of the story because it was told from only Lacey’s POV when Alicia was the character I most wanted to know about. Her past was not a great one and it played a huge role in her actions. Yet, it was detailed only through conversations.
I liked Lacey and Alicia and really felt like they were a good match. I liked getting to know them and see what their lives were like. I even liked the set up of opposites attracting and Alicia bringing Lacey out of her comfort zone. I just wish there wasn’t so much time spent in Lacey’s head dealing with everything except getting to know Alicia better.
I am giving this one 3 stars because it wasn’t a bad read. It was just slow and not very engaging for me. Sorry, but I just didn’t connect with this one.
NARRATION REVIEW:
I love Paige’s voice. I have listened to her read books before and find her style enjoyable. While I had a hard time connecting to this particular story, I felt the narration was well done.

Nice review! I enjoyed this one a bit more than you, but I’m pretty biased towards Georgia Beers. She’s written a lot of awesome books.
