Archer Hawkins and Mallory Halston literally run into each other and a true love story is born. Archer pursues Mallory with absolute determination making him fall hook, line, and sinker.
“I really would like to get to know you, Mallory.” His voice husky in my ear. “I don’t think it’s a good idea, I’m sorry.” I’m already kicking myself for turning him down. “That’s okay, I’ll ask again tomorrow, and the day after, I’ll get you to say yes in the end.”
But just when they’re about to get everything they ever hoped tragedy strikes leaving Mal alone and adrift. Putting his past behind him Mal stumbles upon Cooper’s Ridge. Changing his name to Carter, he takes a chance, becoming a bartender at The Last Drop Inn, and embarking on a new life.
Local attorney, Dan Mortimer, has finally found and captured the heart of Cooper’s Ridge’s newest resident, Carter.
“I was coming in to see you, and maybe get you to agree to dinner with me. C’mon Carter it’s only dinner, I’m a nice guy I promise.”
But when Dan’s college friend comes to town to recuperate after a horrible car accident, it seems the most important men in his life may have something to answer for. And just how far will an evil, conniving, homophobic mother with a vendetta go to bring them all down?
Here Without You is a gay ménage story with plenty of hot sex and strong language and is therefore suitable for readers aged 18 and over.
“Hey, sugar, what time do you want me to come over?” Archer’s deep voice sends shivers through my body. Even over the phone, he affects me. We’ve been together for three months now, seeing each other every spare moment we can. His work is crazy hectic at times, especially in the run-up to him going to court. Right now, he’s just working his normal hours, so he has been pestering me to move in with him every spare minute he can.
“Anytime, baby. I’m all packed up and ready for you.” Okay, so I caved. I want to be with him just as much but thought we were moving too fast and held off, until now. Now I’m ready to be with him.
“Awesome, I’m on my way. See you in twenty.” He blows a kiss down the phone and ends the call.
I look around my room and see everything important to me packed up. When I left the apartment my father provided, I just took what was personal to me. The only reminders of my family are the photos of my brother and sister. I miss them but haven’t been able to reach out to them. All ties have been severed by my parents. They could’ve moved away for all I know. I wish I could say I didn’t care, but it’s not true. It still fucking kills me to know they turned me away because of my sexuality. Something as simple as who I choose to love has wrecked a family, all for appearances.
I hear a knock on the door and open it to the most gorgeous sight, Archer. I softly sigh as he leans in to capture my mouth with his.
“Have you missed me?” His hands grip my hips as he walks me backwards into the dorm room.
“Actually, you’ve caught me at a bad time, I’ve got a hookup from Grindr on his way. Sorry, we’ll have to do this another time.” I bite my lip so I don’t smile.
“Really, I’m sure I’d be better than him. I bet he can’t make you come as I quickly as I can or torture you slowly until you beg for release. Choose wisely, Mallory.”
“Fuck, you’ve got me so damn hard!” I moan.
“Good!” He winks and steps away.
“What? No… wait, you’ve gotta do something about it. I can’t carry heavy boxes with a stiffy. I could damage it.”
“Hmm, maybe you shouldn’t have teased me.” Archer grins but steps closer to me again. His hand snakes down my body and cups the bulge in my pants. “Would be a shame to waste this, I suppose,” he murmurs dirtily in my ear before biting down sharply on the lobe.
I turn the bike in through gates I never wanted to see again and drive slowly up the long asphalt drive to my parents’ home. The ride over this morning has been long but uneventful. I’ll be happy to get off the bike. It’s been a long time since I’ve ridden this much, and my back and legs ache.
As I switch the bike off and remove my helmet, I scrub my hands through my hair and shake it out. I turn to the door as it opens and hold my breath waiting to see who steps through. Then he’s there. Roman, my brother. He’s much bigger now. He’s grown and filled out. There’s a lot of muscle under his well-fitting T-shirt. He smiles, but I can see the tension in the set of his jaw. I must remind myself he’s feeling as nervous and awkward as I am.
Throwing my leg over my bike, I straighten my aching back, then take the first step forward. As soon as I do, he rushes up to me. Throwing his arms around me, he holds me so tight. I can feel him shaking, and I find myself holding him just as hard.
“Christ, I’ve missed you,” Roman says as he steps back, using the heels of his hands to wipe away the tears streaming down his face. “Come inside. You can get out of your leathers and get a coffee.”
I stare at him, then smile. “You grew up good, Ro.” I nudge him with my shoulder. “Not so much of a shrimp anymore.” He laughs at the name I would tease him with.
“Yeah, I guess I had to.” He looks at me, and a wave of sadness washes over his eyes. “We can catch up later at my place. You ready to do this?”
“Nowhere fucking near ready, but I’m here now, so let’s get on with it.”
Roman reaches back to lift my backpack from my shoulder. When I go to take it from him, he smiles. “I’ve got it.”
Letting me step in through the large solid oak door, I tread reluctantly over the threshold, my heart beating wildly in my chest. My brother rests his hand on my shoulder, reassuring me.
“It’s just us here.” We walk towards the kitchen, but he stops. “You want to get changed?”
“I only need to strip these off. I’ve got jeans in my bag.” I slide the zipper down and shrug out of the soft leather.
“I guess you want to know what happened?” Roman asks as we sit opposite each other at the kitchen table.
“What, with Dad?” I raise an eyebrow. “I’m guessing he knew he was ill and decided to do fuck about it until it was too late.”
“Well, yeah, that’s about it, but I meant after you left.” He looks at me, his jaw tight again.
“I didn’t leave. I was thrown out. And no. I really don’t give a shit about what happened here. I know how bad it was for me, and that’s painful enough to think about.” I don’t take my eyes from his, and I keep my voice low and level. “It’s done, Roman, it’s in the past. Leave it there.”

JJ Harper likes nothing more than to lose herself in books, either reading or writing them. She spends her days dreaming about hot men and love stories, letting her imagination run away with her.
Living quietly in the South Lincolnshire countryside with her very patient husband and her uber-lazy dog she hides behind a sweet smile but really is a coffee-addicted, wine drinking, potty-mouthed girl with no intention of every growing up or growing old gracefully.
