Yet, Owen can’t seem to shake this emptiness inside or the intense feeling that something is missing. A sudden encounter with a man from his past, one he despises, turns his entire world upside down. When Owen finds himself attracted to that sexy man, he questions everything, including his sanity. After all, only an incredibly disturbed person would find that he can’t stop thinking about his high school bully.
Brody Walker never expected to return to Haven’s Cove. He’s made a life for himself in Boston, where he can truly be the person he was always meant to be. But an unexpected call has Brody facing all the demons he’d left behind so long ago. Now, he’s faced with not only a difficult goodbye, but one long overdue apology to a man who is no longer that lanky kid from high school. The challenge is to convince the guy he’s changed—and also prove he’s worth taking a chance on.

REVIEW:
I was immediately drawn to the blurb for this story. I am a huge sucker for bad boys turning good and enemies to lover’s scenarios. If you’re like me, then you will totally dig this book. It was so nice reading a story that involved a “healthy, mature” break up between 2 people. One thing that was clear was the fact that the relationship Owen was in had been over for quite some time. I thoroughly enjoyed how this author built on that and made the whole thing incredibly believable. That foundation really sealed the deal for me with this book. It didn’t hurt that the attraction between Owen and Brody was scorching right from the start.
Brody is back in his hometown to take care of his ailing mother. A lot has changed since he left and coincidentally the first job he gets is working for Owen, the same Owen he use to bully in high school. Owen is still angry and has a hard time forgiving Brody but once he knows the why…things start changing between them.
The chemistry between Owen and Brody is off the charts. Even when Owen swears up and down that he hates Brody he can’t help but be drawn to him. Once Owen fully accepts why Brody did what he did and forgives him do we really see the emotional connection between the two.
Usually I’m not all about the quick rebound relationships but it really worked with these two. And the way the author delivered it was perfect.
As a reader, I couldn’t help but really love Brody. His home life was horrible but the man he became was endearing and you can tell his trauma’s really helped shape him.
Overall, I really enjoyed this story. I’m definitely looking forward to more from this series.
