Identical twins Arron and Owen have managed to land a prestigious job working as Aphrodite’s cupids. Well, not quite—Owen has landed the job, as well as a place at university, but he can’t be in two places at once. Or can he?
Nobody’s ever been able to tell the twins apart so sharing the job is the obvious solution. Arron has doubts but jobs in the magic community don’t come along too often… Being a cupid is even better than he’d imagined, especially when he’s paired with sassy vampire Lysander for their training. Nothing can go wrong unless he does something stupid like falling in love…
REVIEW:
This was another cute installment to the Public Limited Cupids series. In this latest book, Owen has landed a job working as a cupid but he’s also going to college and there isn’t enough time to do both. The solution? Convince his twin brother, Arron, to work the first half of his shift for him. They’re identical twins so what could go wrong, right?
Each chapter changes between the brothers so I felt you got a good chance to get to know them both, which was nice. It’s quite apparent that despite their shared appearance, Arron and Owen are totally different people and that especially shows in their dealings with Owen’s new partner, Lysander. Owen pretty much just tolerates his presence while Arron finds himself falling hard and fast. Obviously when the inevitable happens and the truth comes out, the fallout effects quite a few people, Lysander included.
The story itself flowed well and I enjoyed it for the most part; I liked the alternating chapters and getting to see more of what goes on behind the scenes with the cupids. Towards the end, however, there seemed to be things missing and I felt the wrap up was a little too easily accomplished. Lysander and Arron never do actually talk about what happened and I was expecting at least a comment from Tommy to one or both of them about the strings. Instead, Lysander just kind of goes from being angry and hurt to moderately tolerant before he and Arron are ‘making up’ so to speak. Don’t get me wrong, I love a happy ending but it just felt incomplete with the things left unsaid.
If you’ve enjoyed the first two books in the series you’ll most likely enjoy this one as well. It made for a nice afternoon break and was a fairly quick read.
