A beach vacay with my best bud since college seems like the perfect opportunity to relax, catch some rays, and enjoy a couple of nights on the town. When I find a girl who’s eager to mess around with me, I figure I’ve got it made.
Then I meet the intense, hot-as-hell, tattooed Eric Westright, who wrecks my world…in the best possible way.
He awakens something within me-something that’s always been here, but that’s never pulled so powerfully…not until I looked into those solemn blue eyes and felt the red-hot spark of his touch.
There’s something about this chemistry that’s so intoxicating, and the more I get to know him, the harder it becomes for me to resist these impulses that overtake me-that leave me wanting him to show me what it feels like to have a man inside me.
I know he’s fighting too. It’s so wrong, but every kiss, every caress, every stroke feels so right. We shouldn’t act on these urges, but we can’t help ourselves.
First he claims my body, then he claims my heart.
And before I know it, I’m in too deep with my best friend’s father…
REVIEW:
I’m not surprised, by any means, that I enjoyed this book. I’ve read almost everything Devon has written, and though sometimes he surprises me by the content, *cough* Bastards *cough*, everything he writes is so good. He is truly a gifted writer. However, I must say, that if you are reading this Devon, I really want to kick your ass right now. Lol. Here I am, in my own little world, reading along, REALLY into this book, not noticing how late is, nothing. Then I see three little words. To be continued. Seriously???? To. Be. Continued. Is it allowed to choke an author? Lol I’m teasing. But seriously. Those three words almost made me throw my tablet across the room. Needless to say, I hope the next one will be here quickly. Very quickly.
Jesse is spending time with his best friend, Ty, in Mexico, enjoying taking time partying and just hanging out, when after a time out they return home to the hottest man Jesse has ever seen. The only problem is, he’s Ty’s dad. But there is such a hot chemistry there Jesse can’t ignore. Although he’s had feelings for guys before, he’s never acted on them, and Eric is making Jesse feel things he’s never felt. He is pulled to Eric by this invisible force that just can’t be stopped. And apparently Eric feels it too. They come close a few times to acting on it, but something happens and then they realize this is so wrong. But how could something so wrong feel so right. When they finally ‘consummate’ things, it’s better than either imagined it could be. But now there’s guilt because of Ty. Yet they can’t stay away from each other. When they go home and go their separate ways, they find a way to be together. They can’t stay apart, and soon what was supposed to be just a fling, turns into so much more. But there’s some past there, and of course, Ty, as they struggle to get through the things that haunt them and become to each other everything they want to be.
I have to admit I was kind of nervous at first about this book. I think maybe the age difference. I don’t know. Of course then I had to laugh because my own grandmother was 23 years older than my grandfather and hey, love is love right? Most of the time in books like these I’m usually for ….the underdog so to speak. Not that Jesse is an underdog, but Eric would be more of your alpha male, if that makes sense. And normally, I like the alpha males, but something about the partner always strikes a cord with me. But in this one, it was Eric all the way. I knew something was there with Eric from the get go. There was something in his past. Something that was going to make him different. And boy was I right. And no, I’m not telling you. Go read it. Eric tugged at my heart in ways I didn’t think possible. He comes across as this cocky, confident, alpha, power top, but when you get to know him, he is so different. Not saying he isn’t those things, but there is so much more to him. He is so closed off, but when he breaks down a piece of that wall, you see such a sweet guy. He’s caring, passionate, with such a soft heart. He yearns for better things for him and his son, and because of Jesse, he is overcoming fears and breaking down walls he’s never broken for anyone. He feels so broken and hates himself for it. And in spite of swearing off relationships, he wants nothing more than to be loved by the sweet young man who is changing his life and making him feel more alive than he’s ever felt. And Jesse, dear sweet Jesse. Despite having never been with a man before, can’t ignore what his heart is screaming at him. But he knows he needs to be patient. He knows there’s more going on with them and with Eric then them being guilty over not telling Ty or hiding it from him. But Jesse knows with patience and just listening, maybe someday all of Eric’s walls will come tumbling down. And maybe then he will be really ready to give and receive the love he so much deserves.
I still want to kick Devon’s ass for those three little words, but I strongly recommend this book. It has the hottest sex ever but more than that there’s a true intimacy there. And there are some subjects touched on that I’m glad were. I can’t go into detail without giving stuff away, but I’m glad to see real things happen. I’m glad to see how things were handled. And that’s all I can say on that. But go read it. If you are disappointed, I would be shocked. Seriously. This is an excellent book and Devon, hurry up and give me the next one. Lol.
Happy reading guys!!
