More than ten years ago, a series of train bombings devastated railways throughout Europe. Strange poetry sent to local newspapers right before each bombing, confounded investigators at the time. In one of only a handful of failed covert missions, Jarrett had been sent into North Korea to take out the bomber. Now, as his wedding to Thayne approaches, an explosion in Southern California, threatens to ruin their plans for a very special day.
Sucked back into a new case when they’re supposed to be on vacation, neither Jarrett nor Thayne are very happy. When the bomber strikes too close to home, they know they have no choice… especially when the threat seems to be specifically directed at one them.
While recovering from recent trauma and torture, Thayne has put his heart into crafting the single most beautiful event he can imagine for his husband-to-be. When plans for their special Christmas wedding begin to blow up, he is distraught. A sadistic killer with special skills, a strange vocabulary, and a twisted thirst for revenge, is bent on destroying everything.
Join Thayne, Jarrett, and all their friends as they rush to stop the fiend and reclaim their Christmas wedding before one more person dies.
“In the bathroom, you said you wanted me to wear my dress shoes so the tailor can adjust the length. Then you said I was fat and now you say that you want me to wear the goddamned shoes just in case he has to let out the uniform over my massive flabby belly,” Jarrett said, pouting. He chanced a glance at Thayne who was saying nothing. He wasn’t laughing anymore. He was frowning as he came forward and squatted in front of Jarrett.
“Baby, what’s wrong?” He reached up and brushed his fingers through Jarrett’s wet hair, looking into his eyes. “I never said any of that and if I did, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings. I was teasing. I think you’re the most beautiful man I’ve ever seen and if I wasn’t clear before, I’d marry you a thousand times over.”
That made Jarrett feel a little better. The truth was, he had been thinking that he wasn’t getting any younger for a while now, especially with everything that they’d gone through over the past two years. He couldn’t do some of the things that he used to be able to do at eighteen when he’d first joined the Corps and the truth was, he had been feeling a little less needed by Thayne lately, now that he was back to feeling almost 100 percent. He stared into his fiancé’s gorgeous face and looked into his big blue eyes and sighed, feeling stupid.
“I know you love me. I don’t know what the hell is wrong with me. You’re right, I acted like a girl.” He broke eye contact with Thayne and fell back on their bed, staring up at the ceiling. A second later, Thayne had climbed over him and was straddling his hips leaning down toward his face. They locked gazes.
“Do you think I feel the way I did when I was eighteen or even twenty-nine? I’m the same age you are,” Thayne said. “Look at all these scars.”
His battered body with all its scars was as beautiful to Jarrett as it had always been. A long silver scar ran from the hollow between Thayne’s clavicles all the way down his chest where the doctors had cracked it open to remove an assassin’s bullet. Beside the scars that had been there when Jarrett met him, were healing scars from his torture at the hands of Mills Lang five months before. Those scars were all over his torso, knife wounds from where he’d been repeatedly stabbed and sliced open, and two very large burn scars where he’d had skin grafts to fill in missing muscle tissue that had been burned away by white phosphorous that Lang had set on fire. Jarrett realized he didn’t even see the scars unless he looked for them anymore. They were so much a part of the man he loved, his breath caught in his throat every time he looked at Thayne.
“Do you still love me with my scars?” Thayne asked.
Jarrett reached up and cradled both of Thayne’s cheeks in his hands. “I love every single inch of you inside and out. I don’t even see your scars anymore and I cannot wait to be your husband. You’ve made me the happiest man on earth.”
Thayne grinned and leaned down, finding Jarrett’s mouth with his. They kissed long and languorously and when they were done kissing, Jarrett had grown hard all over again. When Thayne finally pulled back, he was smirking.
“Fine, then. Now, get your…”
“If you say fat ass, I’m going to turn you over my knee and whup your butt.”
Thayne barked out a laugh and waggled his eyebrows. “As appealing as that thought is, I wasn’t going to say that. Not at all. I swear.” He slid off Jarrett and turned to walk away.
“Now, tell me why you put your socks on first,” Jarrett said.
Thayne glanced over his shoulder. “Bite me, Jarrett.”
Jarrett laughed and reached for his jeans.

Recently married ATF special agents Thayne Wolfe and Jarrett Evans are ready for some normalcy to return to their work in the ATF the way it has at home. They’ve just moved into their new house and neither of them are prepared for their next assignment, being tasked out to the FBI along with the rest of their team. They should know that when a desperate threat to national security is identified, the situation calls for all hands on deck.
FBI special agent Mac McCallahan and his partner, Lincoln Snow, have a new boss and are handed a dangerous case involving rogue military elites, as strong as an army. Someone has plans to take over control of the world’s supply of palladium, crippling the US economy. On top of all that, two of the men on their combined teams admit an attraction to each other which complicates the entire mission.
This time around, ATF Special Agent Nicodemo Devecchio and FBI Special Agent Mac McCallahan are sent in undercover while Thayne and Jarrett are assigned to monitor things from the SCIF… as if Jarrett could easily just sit still and watch… as if.
In a monumental undertaking, US security forces here and abroad, have one goal in mind—stopping an enemy intent on taking down their government any way they can.
Mac smiled, closing the distance between them with one last step. “Are you sure you want to talk with me about the assignment, Devecchio… or is there another reason you wanted to talk to me?” He watched Nico swallow hard, his Adam’s apple bobbing up and down in his slender throat. The urge to reach out and wrap his hand around Devecchio’s neck and stroke his throat with his thumb was strong.
“I-I…don’t…um, what other reason is there?” Devecchio stammered, swallowing again.
Mac reached out and grabbed the lapel of Nico’s suit, pulling him up against his body as he lowered his head until his lips brushed Nico’s ear.
“I think you like me, Devecchio, and you’ve been waiting to get me alone for a while.” Mac whispered, and he felt Nico’s body shudder against his own. He lifted his head and stared down into Nico’s face, holding himself close enough to kiss if he wanted to. “Am I right?” He dropped his gaze to Nico’s lips as the point of the man’s tongue ventured out to lick ever so slowly across them. When he lifted his gaze to Nico’s dark brown eyes, his pupils were massive and smoldering. Nico nodded slowly.
“Y-Yes,” he whispered. “For a while now.”
“That’s what I thought.” Mac let out an involuntary growl as he lowered his mouth. The first touch of his lips to Nico’s sent a thrill rushing through him but when Devecchio whimpered and pressed his body against Mac, his surrender was unexpected. Mac’s dick throbbed. He grabbed him and pulled him into a tight embrace. Nico’s hands scrambled under Mac’s suit jacket to touch his back over the fabric of his dress shirt. Mac had the distinct feeling that he was trying for skin and couldn’t get to it. The very thought of it turned him on even more. To be wanted by a man with such beauty was an incredibly heady experience.
