REVIEW:
In And God Belched, the author brings us the story of a pretty, but not so smart young man from San Francisco who one day starts seeing someone else looking out of his mirror at him. He can only see the other person during earth tremors, and only in his bedroom mirror.
When it turns out the other person is in another universe which is bumping up against our own and allowing the cross communication, as it were, Randy is intrigued and recruits his brother Craig to help him when the man on the other side of the mirror disappears.
Off to the alternate universe they go. But things aren’t quite as rosy as they hoped. The other world is very empty. A huge city with only a few residents. Where is everyone? And why is the totalitarian government trying to capture Randy and Craig and silence them? The story moves on, and there are some trials and tribulations coming for them. Will they prevail or will the government?
Technically, I think the story could have had more development. It was good, and easily readable, but could have used a few more details. It could also have used a few less “for all intents and purposes” in my opinion. Overall, the story kept me reading because I wanted to see what happened in the end. I would say this one falls somewhere around our Good/Average rating.
