To be loved by a dragon is to be treasured.
100 years ago, werewolf alpha Montgomery took a risk driven by desperation – he borrowed money from the ancient dragon Warwick Ehecatl, putting up the pack lands as collateral.
Now the debt is due, and dragons don’t forget – or forgive. Warwick demands Montgomery’s son, Avery, and three businesses as compensation. As an omega, Avery knows he is basically useless to his pack, so he might as well agree.
He soon has second thoughts, though. Warwick is fearsome, and he’s free to do as he likes with Avery.
Warwick knows his race’s reputation, and he even admits some of it is deserved.
But he’d rather cut off his tail than let his innocent mate’s light go out. It won’t be easy, but buried deep, there’s something between them worth safeguarding.
REVIEW:
Dorian Bane has perfected the growly regal dragon. Then in the next breath a snarky teenage virgin omega werewolf.
This slow burn tale starts with Avery being sacrificed to Warwick over a debt from long time ago that has come due. As the powerful Warwick proclaims ” I am Dragon. ” I was all in from the first show dragon power.
Warwick and Avery are thrown together for first dates and the beast side reveal. Dorian takes you flying thru the night on a dragon. How great is that? It so fun to see a real relationship begin to grow. Avery has some heartfelt growth, while Warwick learns how to deal with such a younger mate.
It was fun to follow along with Warwick while chasing Avery as part of their claiming ritual.
This tale was more sensual than lots of crazy mate sex. Refreshing and borderline sweet. Just enough heat to keep you curious. Then there is the matter of the hoard. Is it a cave filled with gold and spoils war? Is it Avery himself?
By the second chapter of this audiobook I had a complete picture of an aristocratic duke. Dorian does such an incredible job of portraying a old time noble. From now on whenever thinking a prominent historical figure, it’ll be Dorian Bane ‘s voice you’ll hear.
I enjoyed this fun book. Great characters and peeks into the daily lives of werewolves and of course dragons. Only pitfall I found was that this book could have had a few more chapters. Left with wondering about what they were going to do next week…
A great read for a rainy Friday or Saturday afternoon. Enjoy.
