BLURB:
When his daughter is kidnapped, Matt’s life screeches to a halt. He would do anything to get his daughter back, but first he needs to find her. When the police exhaust all possible leads, Matt does the only thing he can do — he uses his hacking skills to infiltrate the dark web. Torn, he desperately hopes he finds a lead on his daughter among the heartbreaking details he comes across, yet prays she isn’t one of the countless children being victimized for thousands to watch.
Xander is a tough, bearded, tattooed pedophile hunter, working for a team who takes down some of the most dangerous people in the country. He doesn’t have time for love or relationships, at least until he meets Matt. Xander’s never let anyone get close, but there is something about Matt that draws him in, and it’s more than just concern for his daughter.
Xander and Matt come together explosively, both searching for a distraction from the darkness they face, but what they didn’t expect were feelings to form. Matt finds himself leaning on Xander and his team for support, while doing what he can to help them find and protect other children from the darkness creeping into their world, never once giving up hope that they’ll get a lead on his daughter.
One phone call threatens to change everything, and when faced with a new reality, the two of them must decide if what they have is worth fighting for. What they need to realize is, sometimes finding the one person who calms you can make it all worthwhile.
REVIEW:
1st thing to note before reading this book, is to pay attention to the trigger warning. This book deals with human trafficking, pedophiles and child abuse. It was a hard read at times but is so amazing! The way E.M has researched the subject matter and dealt with the hard emotional scars it leaves shows just how much she cares about the subject matter.
That being said, Matt and Xander’s story is one of high emotions on both sides. Matt is dealing with the abduction of his daughter Faith. Xander is dealing with both the pain of his past as well as the daily parts of his job that deal with children and the abuse they deal with. What starts off as blowing off steam, slowly builds over time and friendship into something much deeper. The slow burn of their relationship is wonderful to witness. In the backdrop of the search for Faith, the building of the love and life they begin to share, a relationship blossoms.
This book made me feel so many things. First of all is anger! It makes me so mad that these kind of things are happening everyday around us and nothing is being done about it! I spent so much of this book with my eyes welled up with tears for what both Xander and Matt were both dealing with. Second of all was hope. To know that just maybe there is some sort of an organization out there that might do what these brave men and women do just fills me with hope. Third is love. To see that in the end love really does triumph over all. To see that even in the midst of pain and fear, that people can reach out to another and build a love to last and shine. And last but not least is Karma. While not an emotion, I feel that it is so wonderful to me how STK deal of their of brand retribution to the men and women they hunt. It really is Karma at its best.
The group of STK is a fantastic group and I am looking forward to the next in the series. I know E.M Leya is going to take us on an emotional ride meeting more men and new cases in the future. I for one and looking forward to the ride. This Book does have a HEA for those who are wondering.

This book was unbelievable i was hooked wish that all kids had the support that faith did so many grow up and feel ashamed because they have no one to tell them it was not their fault thank you for not being afraid to shed light on a situation that people are terrified of looking at. Thank you
Thank you! It’s a problem that I really wanted to bring awareness too without having to really delve into the darkness from the child’s side. I appreciate your message! Book 2 is set for the end of March!
