A warm welcome to author Kris T Bethke joining us today to talk about her new release “Ghost of a Chance”.
Kris tells us about her experience writing this novel as part of the Dreamspun Beyond line and brought a giveaway for our readers.
Welcome Kris 🙂
Hello Everyone! I’m Kris T. Bethke, and special thanks to Dani for giving me a space to talk about my new release, Ghost of a Chance. As part of the Dreamspun Beyond line, you know this book will be low angst and heavy on the romance. That was what drew me to writing for the line in the first place. Blake and Derek certainly have hurdles to overcome on their journey to their HEA, but oh, what an HEA it is.
Because, you see, Blake and Derek form an unbreakable, unshakeable, very rare bond.
Okay, I’ll admit it. As a reader, I love it when some mystical or magical force brings to people together and cements their relationship completely. It appeals to the romantic in me, that part that never wants my couple to be apart once they finally get together. We see it a lot in paranormal romances, especially when there are shifters involved. But I wanted to look at it from a different angle.
Blake and Derek aren’t fated to be together. They can, in fact, chose to walk away if they want. Of course, they don’t want that. These guys are meant to be together, even if it’s not destined by fate. But they are completely compatible. The connect on an emotional, physical, and mental level so fully that the bond begins to form. They chose to complete it instead of walking away from each other. And then, even that presents its own set of problems.
I didn’t want to make it too easy for these guys. If the bond was the be all and end all, then their story would have ended a lot sooner and it certainly wouldn’t have been as compelling. For me, for Blake and Derek, the important part was the choice. Yes, there was a metaphysical aspect, something beyond their control, but they could choose what they wanted.
I adore these guys, and I loved writing their story. I loved figuring out just how and when that bond came into play and how it all worked out. Blake and Derek’s story is a little bit different than anything else out there, I think, even though it has a lot of familiar elements.
The book is out now, and I hope you get a chance to pick it up and follow my guys on their journey to love.
Blurb:
Only love makes life worth living—over and over again.
Ghostwalker Blake Jones dies every day. It’s his job and how he helps trapped souls cross over. But to return to life, he needs an anchor. His new partner, Derek Scott, is a surprise. Not only is he male, but his appearance belies a caring and gentle heart underneath. Despite attraction and a strengthening relationship, they know they shouldn’t take things further.
But there’s a big difference between knowing and doing.
Their growing love presents a problem, though not the one they expect. Blake and Derek have to decide if they should take their relationship to the most permanent level—an unbreakable metaphysical bond. Doing so offers both risk and unimaginable reward. Can Blake let go of his fears and put his complete trust in Derek in order to have the happily ever after he’s always craved?

Kris T. Bethke has been a voracious reader for pretty much her entire life and has been writing stories for nearly as long. An avid and prolific daydreamer, she always has a story in her head. She spends most of her free time reading, writing, or knitting/crocheting her latest project. Her biggest desire is to find a way to accomplish all three tasks at one time. A classic muscle car will always turn her head, and naps on the weekend are one of her greatest guilty pleasures. She lives in a converted attic with a way too fluffy cat and the voices in her head. She’ll tell you she thinks that’s a pretty good deal. Kris believes that love is love, no matter the gender of people involved, and that all love deserves to be celebrated.

The cover and blurb go together beautifully. I love how an artist can interpret the authors intent. I can’t wait to read this. I loved ‘His Needs’ so I’m hoping this is as compelling a read. Thanks for the chance to win!
