It’s that time of year again people. The time where we, the voracious and obsessive readers of LGBTQ romance, look back and reflect on what an amazing year of books it’s been. If you’re anything like us then you’re already compiling your 2018 “To Read” list, but first, let’s share some of our favourite books from the year just gone.
Over the next few weeks we’ll be posting our top reads of the year. Please feel free to tell us your own favourites, or simply comment on our choices.

CINDY
This author is always at the top of all my lists and I think this story runs a very close second to the original Sinner’s Gin. The world she created and the amazing characters who lived there just grabbed on to me and never let go. Gus broke my heart in so many new ways but it was pieced back together by the amazing storytelling.
I love a good fantasy story and this had all the elements I love. Vampires and shifters, a world with rules just begging to be broken and men who are heroes even when they don’t know they are.
It’s a tale of two men who fall in love even when the rest of the world thinks they are both crazy. They are flawed characters who never expect to get the best out of life until they find each other.
When it All Falls Down by Tanya Chris
This story was among the biggest heartbreakers that I read this year. A coming of age story with a very angsty twist but it comes out amazingly in the end. The author really made me feel the emotions of these two young men.
Broken Wings (Phoenix Reborn #1) by Houston Michaels
I have a soft spot for big strong men who have been left bent by the wars they fought. The BDSM in this novel doesn’t overwhelm the whole story and it’s definitely on my to-be-read-again pile.
ALEXANDER
Audio: Where There’s Smoke by Cari Z, Narrated by Nick J. Russo
Audio: Where There’s Fire by Cari Z, Narrated by Nick J. Russo
These two books gave me such pleasure to read, with fun storylines and
great characters. Superheroes, villains, love, deceit, explosions, and
all the trappings of a wild ride through Panopolis, the city that has
seen it all.
I enjoyed Rebel too. There are a lot of books on your list I missed before and will have to go check out.
I get so excited when other people like books I’ve loved…but my blood really rushes when I hear about a new one!
I loved Rebel and really liked Blue. I’ll have to check out the others.
Haven’t read any of them though I’ve had my eye on the Cari Z.’s books for quite a time. If only there was more time in a day and I didn’t need sleep =(
Thanks for sharing your list! I loved Rebel, too. I have the Cari Z. books but need more time to read. 🙂
Thanks for sharing i have Rebel on my reader waiting to be read, i’m definitely looking forward to that. One of my favorites in 2017 was Worth the Risk by CJ Lynne
Thank you for sharing your list. I loved Rebel, I’ll take note of the rest of them for future readings!
I’ve got Rebel – it’s next up on my list! Can’t wait
Thanks for your tops. I love gay superheroes and Cari’s take on them, and glad to hear you thought the audio was good too.
I’ve been meaning to read a bunch of these!
Again a list where I have not read any – I do enjoy Rhys Ford thouh, so perhaps Rebel is worth a further look!
haven’t read any of these as yet
I like Houston Michaels’ book but no news about the rest of the series.
