The judge has a long reach, and if he finds out Jordan’s turned on him, he might impede Jordan adopting his son, Jeremiah.
When Jordan can no longer stay silent, he gathers his courage and tells Pierre what he knows. To his surprise and relief, Pierre believes him, and Jordan finds an ally… and maybe more. Pierre vows to do what it takes to protect Jordan and Jeremiah and see justice done. He’s willing to fight for the man he’s growing to love and the family he’s starting to think of as his own. But Crawford is a powerful and dangerous enemy, and he’s not above ripping apart everything Jordan and Pierre are trying to build to save himself…
REVIEW:
Jordan Erichsohn is at the tail end of adopting Jeremiah. Jeremiah has been in the foster system for years because both of his parents are dead, he’s only 4 years old. Jordan found incriminating evidence about his boss, Judge Crawford, and he’s been on tenterhooks ever since. Judge Crawford has been receiving threatening letters, Sheriff’s Deputy Pierre Ravelle has been sent to work the case.
The moment Pierre meets Jordan there’s an instant attraction, what he can’t get a handle on is whether the attraction is mutual. The deeper Pierre digs into the Judge’s business the more deception he finds. Eventually Jordan decides to trust Pierre with the truth of what he found, and this is when the real investigation starts. The deeper Pierre looks into the Judge’s misdeeds the more horrifying the realization of consequences a dirty judge is going to bring to the town.
There is so much happening in Fire and Flint, there’s mystery, who is sending the letters?, what has the Judge done to warrant being sent the letters?, Pierre is investigating Jordan’s dirty boss, Jordan is terrified the entire situation will mean his adoption is going to fall through, Pierre and Jordan begin a relationship they have to try to keep quiet about at work so that the Judge won’t do anything adverse to Jordan’s adoption! Throughout the ordeal Pierre is the one constant Jordan and Jeremiah have in their lives, he has fallen in love with not only Jordan but Jeremiah has stolen his heart as well. I am definitely recommending Andrew’s new book and series (Carlisle Deputies) to all Andrew Grey, m/m romance lovers because this is one series you won’t want to miss!!
