All that up-and-coming musician Jesse Jamison has ever wanted is to be on the cover of Rolling Stone. When a gossip website nearly catches him kissing someone who isn’t his famous girlfriend—and also isn’t a girl—he considers the near miss a wake-up call. There’s a lot riding on his image as the super-straight rocker, and if he wants to realize his dreams, he’ll need to toe the line. Luckily, he’s into women too. Problem solved.
After a decade pretending to be his ex’s roommate, pediatrician Hunter Wyatt is done hiding. He might not know how to date in the Grindr world, how to make friends in a strange city, or whether his new job in Toronto is a mistake. But he does know that no one is worth the closet. Not even the world’s sexiest rock star.
As Jesse’s charity work at Hunter’s hospital brings the two closer together, a bromance develops. Soon, Hunter is all Jesse can think about. But when it comes down to a choice between Hunter and his career, he’s not sure he’s brave enough to follow his heart.
REVIEW:
Awww….I really liked this one. I’m really glad I read this one. I was hesitant at first to pick this up but I was so in the mood for a rockstar romance and this one was just what I needed. It’s hard sometimes starting a series out of order and especially when the series crosses genres. That was not the case in this story. Past characters were mentioned but it in no way affected the story. This is a true standalone and a great read.
Pediatrician Hunter Wyatt is ready to start dating again after his failed relationship with a closeted man. One thing Hunter knows is that he will never go in the closet for someone again. So, when he meets seemingly straight rockstar Jesse Jamison, he feels comfortable knowing a relationship is off the table but friendship is something he can do.
Jesse’s only ever wanted to be a famous rockstar and to make good music. So, when an offer to walk the straight and narrow in return for super stardom lands in his lap, Jesse jumps at the chance. Things work out well for him and his band for years…that is until he meets Hunter.
I think what was so great about this is the friendship Jesse and Hunter grew throughout the story. It was so solid and just laid the foundation for a phenomenal relationship.
Jenny Holiday is a new to me author and I have to say I’d definitely read more of her work. My one complaint is the length of this story. I think at times it got incredibly repetitive which just made it drag from time to time. There were lots of things that made up for it though. I really loved the characters, both Jesse and Hunter even though Jesse drove me nuts at times. And the take your breath away moments were amazing.
This was a super hot, super sweet love story that I definitely recommend.
