BLURB:
Fresh off a break-up, Remy is in no mood to share a room with his brother’s best friend during a holiday stay at home. Jason Hendricks has always treated him like a little brother to tease and taunt, all the more embarrassing because Remy has secretly crushed on the jerk since puberty. But when Jason confides he’s bisexual, Remy realizes the crush he loves to hate could be the perfect rebound.
Jason has always found Remy appealing. He didn’t handle his attraction well when he was younger, but now Remy’s a grown man and Jason’s no longer afraid of his feelings. Some playful flirtation sounds like a great way to spend Thanksgiving break, but he’s not prepared for Remy’s newfound sex appeal or his decision to make Jason his rebound fling. Jason doesn’t want to risk fallout with a family that’s always been there for him, but he’s not sure he can resist.
When the two part ways, they don’t plan to stay in touch, but soon they’re texting, trading sexy pictures and helping each other cope with family drama. Remy agrees to be his for the holiday, continuing their secret fling over Christmas, but Jason knows that won’t be enough. He’ll have to find the courage to be open and honest with his best friend — and the whole Wells family — if he wants a chance at love in the new year.
REVIEW:
Yours For The Holiday is a fun, light, minimal angst love story taking place during the holiday season and will give you all the great feels and light up your holiday spirit big time.
This is a true from frenemies to lovers kind of story and features one of my favorite troopes, big brother’s best friend falling in love with younger brother. The chemistry is potent and all the flashbacks we get show how much these two guys are attracted to each other. I enjoyed the build up, the past pranks and the wonderful Wells family.
There are plenty of secrets, coincidences and miscommunication to keep us entertained but not too much to cause frustration. I liked the balance just fine. The secondary characters are great as well and they all complete the plot on their own way. However, I don’t really get Derek and his insecurities. I don’t think we have all the answers in connection with his problems.
Jason and Remy both have their emotional baggage to take care of. Jason’s newly discovered bisexuality causes him headache as he’s not sure how and when to come out to have minimal heartache while Remy just had his heart broken by a douchebag ex boyfriend. The holidays give the perfect opportunity to these two to finally face their mutual attraction. What starts as a holiday fling becomes the real deal pretty fast as both guys realize this can be a relationship they both had been waiting for.
Add to the mix a jealous big brother with his own broken heart, a single cousin, a gorgeous cabin, some sexy underwear and all the Thanksgiving and Christmas preparations and you get a real entertaining read. Hope you have fun.
