Deep in the pine forest, a tormented creature seeks revenge on the pack that has held him captive. More powerful than the werewolves, he wants to destroy. The hybrid hides among them and waits for his chance to pounce. The Alpha senses that his pack is once again on the brink of destruction, but without Clyde’s warlock, he fears all hell is about to break loose.
REVIEW:
This series is getting really good. What’s not great about warlocks, and vampires, werewolves and shapeshifters? For this book we are back with Terry and a lot of tension and unhappiness.
Terry came back from the dead after being used by a witch to do her evil business. He had to come back for Clyde. The love of his heart. But as he has come back, he has realized some of his old life has come back to him. And some of it is a big blank. The big blank in his memories and thoughts are causing the wolf pack he’s been ‘in’ some very uncomfortable feelings. They don’t trust him. And now even Clyde has been wondering if there was a spell that Terry used on him. All these thoughts and feelings are ripping Terry apart and he decides it’s time for him to leave and find out what really happened to him. While Terry is gone, a shapeshifter bent on revenge, gets his wish. And he reeks havoc upon the wolf pack. Through the connection Clyde and Terry have, Clyde is screaming for help but he doesn’t think Terry will get there in time.
I feel for Terry in this book. Even Clyde. Terry did everything possible to make his way back from the dead to be with Clyde. And the minute he’s back, he’s being questioned and mistrusted. And all the doubts and fears and questions are causing Clyde to mistrust Terry himself. All Terry wanted was to be with the man he loved and even though he saved the wolves, he feels like whatever he does isn’t enough. He’s such a sweetheart. He just wants his man. Clyde doesn’t know which way is up. He knows he wants Terry and loves him but he’s so confused. And the thought of Terry leaving him when he just got him back is gutting him. It’s so hard. But Terry thinks it’s for the best. And it turns out to be a good thing because of what he learns. Hopefully, the two of them can realize what they mean to each other and hold on tight.
If you haven’t read book one, please do. You will be lost if you don’t read it. And it’s a good little series. I’m definitely ready for book three. I hope there’s a book three, because I’m kind of left hanging here, lol. Happy reading!
