REVIEW:

Well I was all excited for this book because I love to see what people write as far as BDSM goes. I love to see how it is written, how the characters interact, and if there is true domination and submission going on safely. I have to say I was kind of disappointed in this one. It’s not a bad book, don’t get me wrong, but there is just something missing for me. And I’m doing my best to try to put my finger on it. I think maybe part of it is I wished to see more of a relationship shown. Instead of the Dom breaking in the sub and then everything is peachy keen. There was no meat for me.

Thorne is a thief. He turned to a life of crime to get out from his father’s thumb, so to speak. He’s basically a spoiled rich kid with no purpose in life what so ever. No guidance from the people he should have had guidance from, and when he starts getting into trouble the responsibility of Thorne’s actions are pushed off on prosecutors and cops. Well, this time Thorne got busted. He was set up and caught.

Lane is the prosecutor who has got to figure out a way to get through Thorne’s thick skull that this is not a life he needs to lead. He actually lets him sit in jail for a few days to get it through his head that this is not a joke. So he comes up with an alternative plan. One he hopes will work, but everything is dependent on Thorne and whether or not he will want to do it. Thorne decides that no one is going to break him and make him do anything he doesn’t want to do, so he decides to do this program and he will just kill time to get people off his back. After all, it’s his choice whether to stay or go. But his pride refuses to surrender and Lane pushes Thorne into positions Thorne  never thought possible.

It’s obvious these two are so into each other but pride on both of their parts will never fully let either of them engage and Lane has to put an extra wall up to try to get through to Thorne. And Thorne lays it on thick, trying to do anything to break that wall. I have to admire Lane’s character though. No matter what Thorne does and how he behaves he does his best to stay strong. And considering Thorne’s bullheadedness, that takes a lot of patience. But Lane feels Thorne is worth it. So putting Thorne through some rigorous sessions to make him focus and learn about himself, Lane finally breaks through that head and starts to make progress. And Thorne learns he’s not quite the aggressor he thought and loves to have a guiding hand.

If you decide to pick up this book, be forewarned there is spanking and flogging for anyone who has triggers. This book was not bad, but like I said before, I feel like there should be more to it. But maybe it’s just me. Check it out and decide for yourself. Happy reading!
