The hunters become the hunted when the past returns to haunt Sergeants Connor Finley and Shawn Weller with deadly vengeance.
In the wake of the harrowing missions in India and Pakistan, Connor struggles to come to terms with causing the accidental death of a child, while Shawn tries to put Julian’s betrayal behind him.
Adding to the emotional fallout, new trials arise – the appearance of a young man from Connor’s past turned stalker may have fatal consequences for him, while Shawn must confront his former heroin addiction and break free of the hold it still has on him.
The challenges continue when a Shadow Unit undercover op in Bangladesh to shut down the pipeline of terrorists being smuggled into the UK draws Shawn and Connor into a web of lies and deceit from a man hell bent on exacting revenge on the two soldiers – demanding a life for a life.
Will Connor and Shawn survive? Or will the jungle become their final resting place?
REVIEW:
Julian and Connor have discovered they’ve not recovered as well as they’d thought from their wounds, emotional and physical, that they received in Kuala Lumpur then Kashmir. Conner is still struggling to come to terms with the fact that he caused the death of a child, it doesn’t matter that it was an accident. The last thing Connor needs is news that the man responsible for the deaths of his family has died in prison. This sends Connor into a downward spiral of memories that lead to feelings of guilt and depression. After Connor has been notified he starts to see the murderer’s son around town. The next thing he knows, Connor is being followed, he has a car accident where he ends up in hospital. Connor isn’t sure who or why these things are happening to him now.
The next mission has come in and this time Shadow Unit are off to Bangladesh. This time the team are after a cartel that is known for drugs and people smuggling, only this time they’re smuggling terrorists into the UK. Once in Bangladesh Connor and Shawn discover it has all been a set-up. That is when they realise that this is the culmination of their previous missions in Kuala Lumpur and Kashmir. This time the mission is even deadlier than the previous ones because the target has lost everything and believes he has nothing left to lose.
I highly recommend you grab a copy of Jamie Lynn’s Hunted Soldier and join Connor and Shawn on their next adventure. If you haven’t read the previous two books in Shadow Unit series I suggest you start with book one, Broken Soldier then onto Rogue Soldier before you read Hunted Soldier as this is a series that needs to be read “in order” to get the full impact of the workings of Shadow Unit.
