Hello from Denver and GayRomLit Retreat 2017! It’s Day Two of the Retreat and I feel like we’ve been here for weeks! I always forget what a whirlwind experience GRL is. It’s so wonderful to be with fellow authors and awesome readers of LGBTQ books. I love meeting everyone face to face.
I’m rooming again this year with author K-Lee Klein, who is so much fun. We’re looking pretty perky here, given we hadn’t had coffee yet:
And she doesn’t mind sharing the room with Oscar, the Halloween sock puppet.
(I won’t include the pics I took of her on the dance floor last night because they’re blackmail material.)
GRL is a time to greet old friends and make new ones. I met up with the lovely Devon Rhodes, an old friend I don’t see very often. We’re showing off our purple for Spirit Day.
I enjoyed my author reading yesterday – got to read from In Over Our Heads and Serpentine Walls (my first novel). Here I am looking dramatic:
Another thing I love at GRL are the author lounges. We have two of them and get to meet our readers and give them some love (in the form of swag). Postcards are always fun. I also printed up two free short stories to give away.
I like this pic of me at an author lounge for the half-naked guy to the left and the person reading in the background–it captures the essence of GRL!
There’s much more to come, including a Wild West costume party tomorrow night. I can’t wait!
Until next month….

It was great talking with you this morning! Thanks!
Great to talk to you too!
That looks like a totally awesome place to get some inspiration for your next books!
I’m always inspired being at GRL!
