Ryan Caulfield is a devout avoider of risk, so it comes as a surprise when he agrees to help a group of supernatural law enforcers catch Zeus (the god voted Least Likely to Keep It in His Pants). But how could he say no? He’s nothing if not law-abiding, even if it’s a legal code from another plane of existence. Besides, it all seems harmless enough . . . at least until the half-naked and all-hot immortal with wings and horns shows up.
In his century as an investigator for the Olympic pantheon, Leander of the eroté has solved a lot of cases and slept with a lot of humans. But on this investigation, it looks like he won’t be doing either. His assigned task is bogus, and the most alluring mortal he’s ever met is determined to avoid hooking up.
But the pull Leander feels toward Ryan the bartender won’t let him turn his attention away for long. Soon, he finds himself interested in much more than his usual dalliances with mortals. Now if only he can convince Ryan he’s worth the risk.
REVIEW:
Who doesn’t like a bit of Greek Mythology once in awhile? Okay, a few people. But the point is, I certainly love it, and that’s what basically sold me on Horny by Anne Tenino. What made it even more appealing to me was that the audiobook is narrated by Nick J. Russo. So yeah, I totally took the opportunity to review this lighthearted, cute, and amusing story. Plus, y’know, Nick J. Russo narrated it, so at least it was read by someone with tons of talent and a super sexy voice.
Ryan Caulfield owns and is the bartender of a little roadhouse he inherited, that specializes in hand squeezed lemonade and other various and sundry drinks. One day after the bar closes, a group of demigods shows up and tells him that they are looking for a rogue God (Zeus) who has broken a major law in the Olympic pantheon and needs to be taken into custody. But the problem is, they need to know HOW Zeus has broken the law first. This means that said demigods need to pretend to be human and hang out at the bar, looking for clues. Which could prove to be a bit of a distraction for Ryan, since Leander, the leader of the demigod investigations group is sexy as all get out, and there’s this pull between the two that is almost irresistible. The problem is that Ryan has sworn to put his wild days behind him, and Leander is the one night stand type.
Can Leander convince Ryan that there is something more to their attraction than a quick, meaningless fling? What about Zeus and his criminal operation? What did Zeus do, anyway and will he ever be caught? Well, you’ll have to get the book and find out. If you’re an audiobook lover, Nick J. Russo makes a sexy little romp of a story even moreso simply by using his sinfully decadent voice. If you like audiobooks, but have not yet had the opportunity to experience Nick J. Russo’s voice, jump on the chance to buy this audiobook and hear what you have been missing.
Altho Anne Tenino took a little bit of creative license with Greek Mythology, I am not mad or upset at it at all. Because her story works. Quite well in fact. Pair her talented writing with the perfect narrator (aka Nick J. Russo) and you have a great book to refresh you between heavier reads. As long as you don’t take the story too seriously, you will be greatly entertained. So, why don’t you give it a shot? I’m glad I did, that’s for sure.
