BLURB:
From animosity to searing passion in a lunar cycle… but can their bond survive?
Wolf shifter Nathan Kohl’s pack is his whole life. Arrogant and handsome, he avoids commitment to anything or anyone outside of his pack. He works hard, plays hard, and pursues humans as lovers because there’s little to no chance of him forming a permanent bond. However, when Jared Taylor comes into Nathan’s life, every rule is broken.
After a bad experience, Jared vowed to never get involved with another shifter, no matter how much they got under his skin. Despite being physically attracted to Nathan, who’s all kinds of hot, Jared only sees an arrogant, domineering bastard.
A disastrous case of mistaken identity throws Nathan and Jared together until the next full moon. Forced to spend the next twenty-eight days in close proximity, they can no longer ignore the powerful attraction between them. Passion ignites, and their relationship takes a turn neither of them wanted.
But when the full moon comes, everything might change again.
REVIEW:
I was so intrigued by the blurb to see how these two guys would interact and how they would find their HEA. I have to say that overall…I really liked it.
Jared Taylor is a attractive young man who is looking for a bit of fun as it’s the weekend and time to let loose. Jared’s life is about to change and to Jared’s way of thinking…not for the best. See, Jared was in a relationship with a shifter awhile back and things didn’t go/end great…since then…shifters are a no go for Jared. No matter how hot and sexy they are. Jared is now faced with having to deal with shifter and human politics in order to survive. Jared also has to deal with his feelings for the Nathan after everything that happened in his past.
Nathan…now…I really liked him. He’s this really good guy who hasn’t really wanted or needed to bond with anyone. He’s playing the field and playing it they way the humans want it. The Alpha Wolf way…coming on strong and all cocky…ya know. But Nathan is a really loyal to his pack and wants to do the right thing. His heart is in the right place. I have to say that I found Nathan to be the kind of guy who you’d totally want to have as a friend. He’s just that good of a guy.
There was some good action in this story. I have to say that my heart was pounding while we were in the middle of the action parts. Those rogue wolves going around starting trouble and how Nathan and his pack were trying to keep safe. The rogue wolves, other packs…you aren’t really sure where the danger is coming from and these guys trying so hard to keep their packs safe from harm.
I have to say that I liked this different twist on shifter stories. I like that there were laws governing regarding shifters biting humans and consent. That was a different take in the paranormal genre and I have to say that I really enjoyed it.
I really liked that this story wasn’t insta-love. That they had to work at being with each other and even with the bonding power…they still wanted it to be real. That made the story more enjoyable for me.
This was a really great story and I’m looking forward to the next book in the series. Hold on tight for the next review of Bitten by Design!!!
