An Enemies to Lovers
Shifter, Vampire True Mates story.
Justice Volkov is the youngest Alpha Zenith to ever lead the wolf shifters. Following in his father’s large paw prints was a responsibility he met head on. Now at age thirty-three, he is alpha of the alphas. As a direct descendant of the original Siberian pack, his wolf is bigger and stronger than Justice, himself is sometimes able to control.
His wolf howled long and hard but Justice kept it inside. It felt like a bass drum beating against his rib cage. The harsh breaths, angry snarls and the determined pacing inside him was overtaking him.
Justice takes his role of leadership and his legacy very seriously. He has little time for romance, not to mention a true mate. His packs are his priority. With a human government trying to regulate them, an uprising of rogue shifters, and a violent team of scientists trying to experiment on them, Justice has his hands way too full.
Chadwick ‘Wick’ Bentley is not enthusiastic when the captain of his escort tells him he has to leave his comfortable London home and go back to the States. As the Vampire King, he has no choice but to get his species back in line before they cause anymore chaos. At over one-hundred years old, Wick is no one to trifle with, but his smooth, charismatic manner makes him quite unique, despite the negative reputation vampires have. Wick has had nothing but time up to this point. He doesn’t feel the need to make issues pressing. Nothing is urgent in his life. Until he meets Justice. His beloved.
“Natural enemies can’t be mates.” Or so Justice thought. He knows his skepticism and rejection is hurting his mate, so while he fights their connection, Wick gets help from a source very close to Justice to help him win his beloved’s heart. Wick is a force all on his own, but when he’s blessed with a special gift from the Mother herself, not even Justice’s powerful wolf can prevent the prophesy from being fulfilled.
This story DOES NOT contain/mention MPREG.
No multiple pairings. No cliffhangers. It ends with a very HFN.
Warning: This book is MM paranormal: If you DO NOT like hot, alpha men shifting into large wolves, or vampires feeding from their mates, this may not be your read.
JEN’S REVIEW:
Wow, it’s hard to believe this is Ms. Via’s first paranormal story, but boy am I glad she decided to give this genre a try. She has created a wonderful new world with some somewhat unique aspects. An alpha werewolf mating with the king of the vamps is a combustible combination in more ways than one!
Alpha Justice is in a bit of a predicament. There are young rogue werewolves stirring up trouble with vampires in public and the Government wants to use it as an opportunity to gain control. Not wanting that control out of their own hands, Justice has to work hard to nip this situation in the bud and keep the Government from overstepping at the same time.
Meanwhile, Vampire King Wick is not happy about his vampires being involved and heads to America to take control. While up to this point they have been somewhat enemies, Wick instantly recognizes Justice as his true mate, a rare treasure and one that takes some convincing as far as Justice is concerned. It doesn’t take much though, nor does it take long for Justice to know and learn about the secret Wick has been keeping. To be fair, Wick isn’t entirely sure what his secret is either, just that he is different. But Justice is there for him and helps him understand and deal with his new ability. After the initial snags, these guys get on the same page, allowing the story to take some exciting twists and turns.
I loved these guys! They were great together and shared fabulous dialog that was sexy, funny and even sweet. They realized that by accepting each other as mates, they were also setting a good example for others that the wolves and vampires could not only get along, but could happily coexist. There is a lot more to the story about why each of them and what their overall roles are, but that is part of the overall storybuilding that made it interesting.
I was captivated by this and loved the other characters involved. Justice’s other brothers all play important roles and are interesting characters. Another pairing is revealed at the end of this story, and it looks like it will be just as exciting and interesting as this was. I’m already looking forward to that one!

CAROLINE’S REVIEW:
I loved this one!
This is an absolutely riveting start to a new series that sees one of my favourite authors dipping her toes into the paranormal world – actually she didn’t just dip her toes she dived fully in and the results speak for themselves – Prophesy is not only a great story but it sets us up for what looks to be a fantastic series.
Justice is your typical Alpha wolf in a lot of ways and his astonishing power as the Alpha Zenith can literally stop everything in its tracks but he also has compassion and understanding and it is those traits along with his deep rooted love for family that makes him a great leader. His job is a tough one as he tries to control his wolves that seem determined to get themselves into trouble with the human laws and especially when it comes to fighting in the open with Vampires.
Wick is always suited and booted and looks every part the Vampire King that he is. He is strong and feisty but there is also something quite fragile about him. Wick is nearly 200 years old, has never found his beloved and has always known since childhood that there was something that set him apart from his family and peers. He feels like there is something inside of him – he also feels emotionally and that is something that is very unvampiric.
It seems the fates have something planned for Justice and Wick but attitudes and fear make it difficult and their first meeting is disastrous and could end up being the death of them.
So many twists and turns. I loved the all-consuming need they had for each other after just one touch. Their dependence, their deep love and their possessiveness are all things I enjoy in paranormal stories and this had them in bucket loads. There were also some great secondary characters and as the Vampires and Wolves come together to fight for their survival it is going to be fun seeing who will end up mated with who.
Great snippet of the next book at the end – fingers crossed Ms Via already has lots of words on the page for that one as I am very excited to read it!
