REVIEW:

Another first for me and I am so glad I read it! Truly fabulous book. I love murder mysteries and this was one that kept me on the edge of my seat. I could not put the book down.

We start out in L.A. where there are riots in the streets and the news is filled with the Rodney King beating and all the destruction that came after. Noah is trying his best to keep his little store and his employees safe. They think they are alright until a neighbor’s shop goes up in flames and a body is found inside. Curiosity starts getting the best of Noah and he begins to ‘investigate’ on his own. Things aren’t adding up and it looks like foul play is definitely at work. The more Noah looks into things, the more things come up hinky.

Between Noah and his neighbors Louis and Marc, I giggled so much at their antics. Some of the things that would come out of their mouths while ‘ investigating’ had me laughing so hard. But this was a mystery that just kept the punches coming. Just when you think you have it all figured out, Noah comes up with a twist that leaves you going “wait a minute”. I love too that the author made Noah himself a kind of mystery. You never really know much about him through the whole book. Until the very end. Then you find out information that has everything falling into place. And then of course I felt for Noah even more. Noah has this ‘air’ about him that you can’t help but love and the more the book goes on the more you fall in love with him. He is special. I love that his character kept digging too. No matter how much his life was in danger, he knew something wasn’t right and he kept digging. Trying to get justice for those who were wronged.

I will tell you now this is not one of those books filled with sex and things of that nature. Although there are scenes that mention things and of course the fact that Noah owns a video shop that also rents porn. But this is truly a mystery and if you love mysteries you will love this book.
