Mace has been given a task, and he’s never been one to leave a job half done.
When Mace’s father announces that it’s time his sons settled down and began having children, Mace immediately begins to weigh his options. His preference for male lovers presents a challenge, but the universe is a big place, filled with many different kinds of beings. Mace takes a chance on his next mission, only half believing he’ll have any luck finding a mate, and unexpectedly discovers the passion he’d never even realized he was missing in his life.
REVIEW:
Well this was definitely my kind of book. I love omegas/alphas stories. Omegas are my favorites but often get portrayed as weak when they are far from it. Submission does not mean weak, and I love that the author made sure this Omega had a mind and a mouth.
Mace isn’t typically an alpha. He’s human. His father has given him and his brother an ultimatum. Time to get get married with kids or no passing along the business. Being that Mace likes men that presents a bit of a challenge, and he is definitely up to trying to beat it. He didn’t really expect to find anyone, especially not someone as quick as he does. Finn is the Omega Mace gets to meet.
I love both Finn and Mace in this story. I love that Finn has a mind of his own. He has actually gotten into severe trouble with other wolves because of his opinions and beliefs. He is opinionated, inquisitive and downright feisty. But because he is an older omega he is also a little more closed off. He doesn’t believe he will ever find his mate so when he meets Mace it’s a huge surprise. As you get to know Finn, you see he has a softer side. He wants to be spoiled and loved and I adore that about him. He refuses to allow anyone to think a softer side makes him not good enough or less of an equal. He’s not weak.
Mace’s character is so sweet and romantic but hard when he needs to be. As the first in line for his father’s business he has to be boss, so he has alpha in him. But it’s beautiful to see him interact with Finn. He is so devoted and loyal right from the start, from their initial meeting, which blows Finn away. He does everything he can to be considerate as a lover, as a friend, and as anything Finn needs. He even goes so far as to refuse sex because Finn was a little too tipsy and he didn’t want Finn to have any regrets. I love that he caters to Finn but that he also sees Finn as his equal. As his lifemate.
I can’t wait to get the other two books to this series to see how Mace’s brothers react to the ultimatum. This was a good read for me and I recommend it anyone who wants a sweet love story.
