Finn thinks he’s not worthy of love. Luke thinks he’s destined to be a lone wolf. But once they find each other, their lives will never be the same.
Fresh out of the institution after a failed suicide attempt, Finn’s ready to crawl back up and reclaim life. He’ll stick to his plan, take the tests, kiss all the butts and get back into grad school. That’s all he thinks about until he meets his new roommate the older, intimidating Luke.
Kicked out of his pack for being gay, alpha wolf Luke sees no way out of the solitary life he leads. That is, until he sees Finn, bent over the kitchen island, and the need to claim him, take him, becomes too much to bear. He’ll do whatever it takes to bring Finn out of his shell and convince him they’re mates.
But Luke’s alpha essence begins to change Finn in ways he never could have imagined. While the possibility of starting a family fills him with pride, the fear of the unknown, of what it could do to Finn, fills him with dread.
One thing Luke knows for sure–there is no going back, not after finding Finn.
REVIEW:
Well I must admit I’m a bit of a mpreg virgin. I’ve read one or two but this book being a mpreg and the first of this author’s I have read, I’m impressed. It was good. The writing left me interested and for you sex fiends, lol, it’s loaded and it’s smoking hot.
We meet adorable Finn right off the bat and he’s troubled. From the minute I started reading about him, I fell in love. He feels so unworthy and cannot find where he belongs. It’s troubled him so badly, he’s ended up in an institution after trying to commit suicide. But he is out now and looking for a fresh start. Right there as you’re reading, you can’t help but want to cheer for him because he wants to be better and get his life back on track. He figures staying with his sister will help him breathe and be able to get back to school. But fate has a different plan.
The minute he walks in his sister’s house, Finn is being stalked by outcasted, lone wolf Luke. All Luke smells is ‘mate’ and ‘mine’ and before he can fully control his wolf, Finn catches and beans him in the head with a beer can. What a meeting! But neither can control what the chemistry between them is stirring up. After a hot bout of sex, things begin to change and at first, not for the better. Over time though, Luke wears him down. Finn’s body begins to change and things begin to happen that shock them both.
Finn’s character, as I said earlier, is the one I love. He is trying so hard to be brave and strong, but he doesn’t realize he already is. Even though he spent time away, he is pushing to get life back where it needs to be. And even though life keeps throwing curve balls at him, he keeps getting up no matter how scared he is. He learns it’s ok to ask for help and to rely on Luke, especially, for extra strength. Luke’s character would be a close second. He’s learning what it means not to be that lone wolf and to take care of others as they join his pack, his family. That takes courage to go from being alone to being a leader and I admired that in him.
This book has some surprises and some funnies as well. Finn’s sister will keep you in stitches. It has some climactic events that have you on edge as to what will happen. Overall, a good book.
