BLURB:
Looking for love is the last thing air steward, James Foster, is thinking about when he swaps flights to save his hung-over best friend’s job. He doesn’t know that fate has other ideas and he would fall for the tall, bearded passenger, Darren Busby, sat in 14D. Up in the air, James finds that the connection he has with Darren is too strong to ignore. After missing the opportunity to ask for Darren’s number, James’ jaw hits the floor when Darren walks into the same hotel he is staying at. Butterflies and nerves take over, but soon give way to excitement as they get to know each other on the ground. When James’ ex, Richard, shows up and begs for forgiveness, James has to decide if going back to the man who broke his heart would be worth it, or if he should finally move on and take a chance on Darren.
REVIEW:
When I read this blurb I thought it sounded fun. So glad I took a chance on this new author. This fun, short romp was a delight.
James had planned to sleep in since he didn’t have to fly out, as a over seas flight attendant, until the next day. But when Max, his roommate and best friend, who is almost like family, and fellow flight attendant, shows up smashed with some bearish guy he takes charge. After finally getting rid of the guy, while Max pukes his guts out, he switches flights with Max to take the Johannesburg run from London, so he can sleep it off and not put his job in even more jeopardy. After calling Nana to look after Max, off he flys. Little did he know that he would be literally bowled over by a passenger on the flight that seems to be his perfect match. “Up in the Air: Johannesburg” is the story of how James may have very well met his perfect match on an unexpected trip.
I liked James but fell completely for Darren. He was just so adorably cute and quick on his feet except when he and James first “bump into” each other. I could so see this happening and have been literally surprised, with all the flying I do, that I haven’t yet. I have seen flight attendants bumped into but never literally flattened on the floor by a late or eager passenger. What I loved most about him was him quickly taking action when it was needed every time James’ low life ex showed up. He had me practically swooning! And he is a romantic to boot! A win-win for James after his past history.
This is a fast paced, quick first story in this new series and I eagerly await the next!
