BLURB:
Confident businessman Joel Rhodes sees the small California town of Lavender Shores as nothing more than a business opportunity and a final stepping stone to the position he’s been working toward his entire life. It was supposed to be just one night in town to close the deal, and sleeping with one of the local men, no matter how gorgeous, meant nothing more than a few hours of fun.
Andrew Kelly is perfectly content with the life he has in his hometown. So much so that the only thing missing is someone to share it with. Going to bed with a tourist was never meant to be the answer to his dreams, just a beautiful distraction. He could get back to looking for Mr. Right the next day.
Both Andrew’s and Joel’s worlds are turned upside down when a few hours of pleasure get extended to a couple of days. Even that shouldn’t have been a big deal. You can’t fall in love in that amount of time. That isn’t how it works. However, if destinies collide, a few short days may be all it takes to find your soul mate. Even so, when secrets and motivations get tangled, fate may do nothing more than leave two hearts in pieces.
REVIEW:
If you are looking for uber sweet with a good dose of cheese then you will love this story. I must have been in the right frame of mind when reading this one because I know normally stories this sweet are just not for me but I liked this one. The writing was good, flowed well and kept my interest. I loved the description of Lavender Shores. It’s amazing when authors make me really want to visit the places I’m reading about…the Palisade sounds incredible and the whole town of Lavender Shores really just came to life in this story.
Andrew Kelly has spent his whole life in the small town of Lavender Shores. As small town life goes, everyone knows everyone so when Joel Rhodes comes to town looking to open up a new business word gets around fast.
After a hot night together, Joel and Andrew both chalk it up as a one off even though they both felt an incredible connection blossom between them.
As luck would have it Andrew and Joel are given more time together while hunting the perfect location for Joel’s new business interests. Joel is driven by wanting to prove his father wrong while also trying to make him happy.
Secrets are kept and all the while both Andrew and Joel are feeling more and more for each other. This story is more of an instalove because both men’s inner-dialogue gets super sappy almost from the beginning.
I liked the way this developed even though both men fell fast and hard. It read well and their connection was believable. I also really loved the side characters. I found Andrew’s fathers openness hilarious and refreshing…he was fun as was the rest of Andrew’s family.
Like I mentioned this was a super sweet, instalove story with great characters. If you’re looking for sweet and minimal angst…this one’s for you!
