BLURB:
Exiled from his home planet for loving an enemy, Vince turned to space piracy aboard the Cygnus. Disguised as a human thanks to his species’ shifting abilities, Vince feels secure. But he’s not safe from memories of his murdered lifemate—or from a growing attraction to Trent Rolston, the ship’s captain, he feels honor bound to ignore.
Trent, though, is determined to prove to Vince there’s nothing wrong with becoming more than friends. But Vince is surprised by his species’ mating call, despite being deep in space and far from home.
Just as their relationship begins to evolve, the Cygnus comes under attack from hunters determined to destroy Vince and his chosen family.
REVIEW:
Well if you are into love in space, this is the book for you! It’s full of tension, chemistry, love, and some fighting in between. My kind of book.
As in the blurb, you can see the story revolves around Vince and Trent, and they are definitely my favorites in this book. Vince is the brooding alpha male, who doesn’t talk much or let anyone in. Trent is the alpha male, who is determined to break down the walls that Vince has put up. Vince has had a rough life and he melts my heart in this story. He has lost his lifemate and because of who it was he was exiled on top of it. His species only mates for life, so when he starts having feelings for Trent he doesn’t know what to do. His animal side wants so much to revel in the scent of Trent, and his sexy body, but he is afraid he will forget his former lifemate or betray his memory. He is so scared and scarred. Trent sees the attraction Vince has but as much as Vince is fighting it, he isn’t sure he should act on it. In a drunken stupor on night things progress but not all the way.
The chemistry between these two is powerful and you want to smack both of them in the head to get it together. Vince needs to let go and realize who his new lifemate can be. As his past comes back to haunt him, he learns real quick what is most important. He is hunted by hunters from his kind for his past and for just being alive. He learns during all these battles that Trent is his rock and is there for him no matter what happens. I love that about these two. That they push hard to get through whatever they are going through. Vince learns there are second chances in life, and Trent learns to be patient and more understanding. And when they finally do get it together, whoa baby. The sex is amazing and carnal and passionate.
I hope that you enjoy this book as much as I do. It is a book I will definitely be reading again.
