BLURB:
With his lover, Kade, missing, androgynous former model turned private investigator Ollie Petroskovic is ready to kick some ass to bring him home.
Ollie and his ex, rock star Jacob Elias, need to find Kade and free him from the clutches of his manipulative family. But with Ollie suffering from chronic migraines and Jacob unable to bear loud noises, they are hardly the dynamic duo. It takes a lot of sweet talking on the part of Jacob, and patience Ollie doesn’t have, to find Kade. Only Kade’s not whole anymore. The fight for Kade’s heart and mind is far from over.
It’s Ollie’s turn to guide Kade through nightmares, self-doubt, and PTSD. Kade’s memories are scattered, fragmented with possible horrors, and he’s not quite sure what is real. Ollie will have to draw on his investigative skills to clear Kade of the terrible accusations his family has made and help Kade unlock the truth. But in doing so, he ignores his own health, which could have catastrophic consequences for everyone, especially when digging up the past could be lethal for them all.
REVIEW:
Model Investigator starts up where Model Bodyguard left off. Ollie is in turmoil because Kade is gone and all he has is Jacob to rely on.
It needs to be said…it has to be said….I love Jacob. LOVE. Jacob is one of those characters who at first I wasn’t quite sure about, to be honest. I didn’t understand his intentions in book 2 but he grew on me even then. And that spark just morphed into full on…LOVE THIS CHARACTER type of affection. Jacob just doesn’t let Ollie dwell and he calls him on his shit, and I love that. Ollie being Ollie can get maudlin…Jacob does his damndest to make sure that doesn’t happen all the while doing everything in his power to help Ollie get Kade back.
Book 3 is pretty damn good whodunit from beginning to end not that I’m surprised with this author and this incredibly suspenseful series. I think Lissa Kasey is so damn good at these mysteries and the suspense/action elements. Keeps me hooked from beginning to end.
I thought after reading the blurb this was going to be super angsty and I was really worried that Kade wouldn’t be the Kade I’ve grown to love. I’m here to tell you that that is not the case in this book. Kade and Ollie communicate more than ever in this book. Yes, it’s painful. Yes, Kade is not whole or healthy and neither is Ollie but their growth as a couple in this book is remarkable.
This story focuses heavily on Kade’s completely screwed up family and centers on some huge mysteries involving why his relationship with his family is so strained. I have to admit this was a page turner and I was surprised at who was responsible.
Any lovers of the series will sop this one up with a biscuit…it is so good. Keep in mind this is not a standalone…so don’t even try.
Get Book 1 and start from there…you’re welcome.
Recommend.
