REVIEW:
I have to say that this book didn’t happen the way that I thought it would when I started the first two books and yet, I’m really glad that it didn’t. I was surprised and that rarely happens for me in most books and this one…feelings all over the board on this one. This story had so many things going. I wanted to slap them silly and I wanted to cheer them on…I did both.
Matty, it was good to see him again and to see how he grew into the man he is today. Matty is about to get divorced soon and he’s missing his step children. He also is missing his own son, Keegan. I enjoyed seeing Matty again and seeing that his feelings for Damon continue to grow and become something deeper and new. Matty had his own issues that he needed to work on and confront…to see that he couldn’t be alone for long after Marie…well that just sealed the deal for me that he wasn’t over Damon and that something was going to have to give. The fact that he had more of a relationship with Katrina’s kids than his own…that kinda pissed me off…I’m not gonna lie…I was really pissed and annoyed about that…that’s so messed up and yet…that happens all the time in RL, so I don’t know why it bothered me so much in the story.
Damon…poor Damon. The feelings of guilt that he felt for what happened with Keegan and what feelings that brought back…well…you know. I liked how Damon finally got his head on straight…pun totally intended…and got with the person that is totally his soulmate. Damon really had to pull it together and get the person/life that he wanted. A twenty year friendship that turned into more…I have to say how much I really enjoyed that. Goes to show that you can truly grow up and get what you want.
Keegan…now my poor boy is just so damn young and stupid. I think about the decisions that he made and hoped that at his age…I wasn’t that stupid…yet, Keegan does grow up and show that he’s willing to do what needs to be done in order to get what he wanted. Of course, Keegan makes many mistakes and does stupid things…yet, I guess it’s true that the young are run off of emotion and hormones. It was interesting to see Keegan still have a thing for Liam and all he thought was going to happen between them. To see his world blow up in his face and how he deals with the fallout.
This story was all over the place for me…the good, the bad and the sexy. Holy Hannah…this story took me on an angst filled, sexy time ride and I have to say, Thank You, Zane. You’ve totally kept me entertained and brokenhearted at these characters. I felt their heartache and pain. I felt their joy and I just was pulled into the story and didn’t want it to end.
This was a great book and I’m kinda sorry to see it all end…for this to be the conclusion of their story…was really sad and yet, I was thankful to get to be a part of their journey,
