A summer fling is an ideal cure for a broken heart. But when it’s with your best friend, things get complicated.
When Adam is dumped by his boyfriend, a week away at a beach resort seems like a great opportunity to get over his ex. Sun, sea, and no-strings sex will be just the boost he needs to move on with his life.
Adam’s best friend, Finn, agrees to accompany him at short notice. Finn’s had a crush on Adam for years, but is determined to put his feelings aside and be the perfect wingman in Adam’s time of crisis.
A spontaneous threesome with another guy forces Adam and Finn to confront their attraction to each other. Having a holiday fling together wasn’t part of the plan, and as their trip heats up, they soon realise that one night of fun won’t be enough for either of them.
The passion might be scorching, but their hearts and friendship are on the line. If their romance is going to survive the flight home, they have to be honest about what they want.
REVIEW:
I am a fan of friends-to-lovers novels and this one was wonderful!
Adam is in a five-year committed relationship with his older fiancé, Drew. With only one more week to go until the two take off for a wonderful holiday adventure to a gay resort on the Mediterranean coast of Spain, Drew does the unthinkable. He comes home, tells Adam it’s over, he has a new boy toy and has been cheating on him. After flinging his engagement ring at Drew, Adam packs a bag and heads to his best mate, Finn’s place. When Adam shows up unannounced at Finn’s place, Finn is not only confused but surprised. When he finally gets out of Adam what happened he is furious. He never liked Drew and darn well knew he never deserved his best friend. After a drunken night Adam remembers the fully paid for trip that is in less than a week. He asks his best friend if he would accompany him as his wingman. “What better way to get over Drew than sun, sea, sand, and sex with hot guys?” But what Adam doesn’t realize is that Finn has secretly held a crush on Adam since they first met. How can these two men go on holiday with each other and avoid complications to their friendship when they begin to look at their mate with new eyes?
I really liked both these men. They have been best friends for so many years and only want the best for the other, no matter how it affects themselves personally. Finn is such a sweetie. He has had secret feelings for Adam for what seems like forever. And Adam, though he seems like a bit naïve at time, truly cares for Finn. It was a bit nerve wracking to watch these two men when feelings started to emerge. I loved how neither one was willing to do damage to their friendship to reach out for the other.
The other great part of this book? A great threesome night. I am a huge fan of ménage and this one didn’t disappoint at all. I loved that Niall brought these two men together, figured out what they needed and then helped nudge them along. And he deserves to be their best man when they finally do decide to go down the aisle. I could sooooo see a spin off book about Niall, starting at Adam and Finn’s wedding…hint, hint, hint! He deserves a HEA since he made Adam and Finn’s life a storybook ending!
A wonderful, fast paced book set at the warm Mediterranean Sea by the fabulous author Jay Northcote! He has yet to write a book I didn’t fall for and eagerly await my next one! I highly recommend this must read!!!
