REVIEW:
I have been waiting (almost) patiently for Agent Poe’s story ever since he was introduced way back in book one and I can say after finishing it that this is my absolute favorite story in the series. Seriously, something any other book after this will have to just knock my socks off in order to beat this one out. 😀
In the aftermath of the attack on the Knights’ compound, Poe has a lot on his plate so being called in by Chief Anu and sent off on what Poe is positive will be nothing more than a wild goose chase isn’t helping his mood or stress levels any. While Master Nordik is occasionally spotted, it’s a well known fact that the master shifter is solitary to the point of hermitage and he isn’t usually found unless he wants to be. Irritated with the entire situation, the last thing Poe expects is to find a group of Knights wandering around Sanctuary and is even more surprised with Nordik himself shows up to help him.
I loved this story! Just, from start to finish this was everything I was hoping for in regards to Poe and I couldn’t be more thrilled. I really enjoyed getting to meet Poe’s parents and it was great getting to see how much he cares for them. It was also nice getting to know the reason Poe became an Agent, seeing as how he isn’t the orphan I originally thought he was, and it was kind of amazing to see the absolute dedication he has to his chosen calling. Nordik was every bit as awesome here as he was the first time you get to meet him and it was great getting to know some of his background, too. He has such a strong personality that I had an absolute blast reading about him and Poe butting heads as they each tried to get their own way. The sex scenes, while not overly graphic, were still pretty hot and they worked well with the story and didn’t detract from the overall plot, which was great. I wouldn’t have said no to more of them however because, seriously, Nordik + Poe = Hot! 😀
This was just a great story and was totally worth the wait. If you’ve enjoyed Poe’s character at all in the previous stories this will be a must read for you.
