BLURB:
Just out of an eighteen-year marriage, the last thing Jackson expects the first time he visits a gay bar is for a sexy, drunk, twenty-six-year-old twink to mistakenly climb into his Jeep. The twink part he’s good with, the drunk part…not so much. As far as Jackson’s concerned, the boy should come with a warning label. But Derek is not as flighty as Jackson thought…he’s actually pretty incredible. Getting to know the wild, funny man is a breath of fresh air. And when Derek calls him Daddy? Christ, he never thought something like that would feel so right.
Derek has serious daddy issues, and his name is Jackson. He’s stubborn and controlling…and ever since Derek woke up in the silver fox’s condo, he can’t get Jackson out of his mind. Maybe because no matter how many times he throws himself at him, Jackson doesn’t take the bait. And maybe because Jackson is the one person who sees him for who he really is. But Derek loves a challenge, and he’s eager to rock Jackson’s world.
Jackson isn’t interested in a meaningless hookup. He wants the real Derek, not just the sassy jokester everyone else sees. But it’s not easy for Derek to open up. He feels much safer guarding his heart. And Jackson needs to figure out the balance between living for himself and the mountain of responsibilities weighing him down. Derek and Jackson must find the common ground between hookup and commitment—if they can’t own their issues and work together to overcome their faults, they could smother the flame between them that’s just beginning to ignite.
REVIEW:
OMG…my favorite of the series so far!!
Daddy kink shouldn’t be so damn hot, but….DAMN it’s super HOT!!! I’ve loved Derek since Faking It and I couldn’t imagine him being with a better person than Jackson. These two were the perfect balance of opposites that just worked together so unbelievably well. Owning It will be firmly placed on my re-read shelf because I loved it that much. Riley Hart and Devon McCormack did it again…the best addition to the series, in my opinion!!
Derek’s carefree, fun loving, mask is firmly in place in basically all aspects of his life. He has several very close friends but he doesn’t let anyone in completely because he’s terrified of being left. In Derek’s life everyone leaves and he’s done letting people have control over his emotions. The only family Derek has is his Alzheimer’s stricken uncle and even he is slowly leaving Derek.
A mistake or an unlikely twist of fate Derek meets Jackson, several years older, recently divorced with a teenage son.
Nothing about Jackson and Derek should work but it does. It works incredibly well but both men aren’t in a position where they want to start a serious relationship, or so they think.
As time goes on Derek and Jackson get closer, learn more about each other and feelings start to develop that neither man is ready for.
Jackson and Derek find themselves in a position that neither man is ready for which puts their already rocky relationship in jeopardy.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again Riley Hart and Devon McCormack make beautiful, twinky magic love stories together. I love these books and I love how we still get bits and pieces from the other characters in the other books in the series. Very much enjoyed this one and I can’t wait for more…ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND!!!
