REVIEW:
I have to admit I was disappointed in this short story. This is the first time I have found myself saying this about Ms. Ricci’s work and it is killing me to do so as she is one of my favorite authors. But this short story tried to do too much for the word count and I was left feeling cheated.
Talk of the Town was an excellent OUTLINE for a longer story. It had all the bits and pieces needed to make a novel great. But as a short story, it fell flat and was incredibly rushed. Everything was superficially presented and the romance was unbelievable in its pace. In the end this felt like a trailer or a teaser for something longer and while the teaser was great, it left me wanting so much more.
