TITLE: The Wrong Kind of Angel
AUTHOR: Ruby Moone
PUBLISHER: JMS Books
LENGTH: 74 pages
RELEASE DATE: December 17, 2016
BLURB:
A reluctant angel, three not terribly wise men, two gorgeous men on a starlit chase to find a child … It can only be Christmas.
It’s Christmas 1817 and Captain Charles Farrington has accepted that he is destined to live alone. That is, until Christmas Eve, when a startlingly handsome man crashes into his home and his life.
Harry Valentine is a man on the run. A man with secrets. He hasn’t time to fall for the angel who rescued him and, in any case, he knows that once Charlie realises the truth about him, there will be no future for them.
Harry’s warmth makes Charles face up to the demons in his past and shows him that he can have a family. All he has to do is persuade Harry to stay. But Charlie knows that, despite whatever Harry says, he’s the wrong kind of angel for happy endings.
REVIEW:
This is the first book of Ms. Moore’s I’ve read and I enjoyed it. It was a historical, sweet and spicy romance with a hero to save the day.
Charles is so alone. He has no reason to celebrate, so on Christmas Eve, he is alone, doing normal everyday things. All the while, Charles is dreaming of someone who will stay with him and love him. His housekeeper and groom want him to settle down with a woman and get married but Charles is finding his tastes lie elsewhere. As he doses off in front of the fire, a noise at his door wakes him. He braves the cold to open the door where he finds a dark haired, dark eyed man of his dreams completely soaked to the bone. Has someone answered his prayers?
Both Charles and Harry melt my heart in this story. In a time where men being with men is strictly forbidden, both men crave the touch and love of another. Both men are so lonely. Charles has been alone most of his life, and Harry, although he has been with others, has never had true love’s touch. I don’t know about anyone else, but I can relate to both of these characters. Harry is so desperate to escape his past and start over that he is afraid Charles wouldn’t want him. They both want love and companionship and someone to just hold them and make it all better. Plus sometimes you just need a hero and Charles is that for Harry. Harry’s past comes back for him and Charles protects him and helps solve his problem.
On top of that, the electricity between these two is really combustible. From just a look both men go up in flames and it is erotic. They crave each other and each touch is like fire. The sex is amazing and makes you want to read it over again, at least for me.
I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it. It’s a short, sweet little Christmas story with some spice and lot of love. Charles helps Harry save the day and you will fall in love with both of them and root for them to be together to be what each other needs.
