This title is #1 of the Fae Out of Water series.
Blurb:
Temp worker David Evans has been dreaming of Dr. Alun Kendrick ever since that one transcription job for him, because holy cats, that voice. Swoon. So when his agency offers him a position as Dr. Kendrick’s temporary office manager, David neglects to mention that he’s been permanently banished from offices. Because, forgiveness? Way easier than permission.
Alun Kendrick, former Queen’s Champion of Faerie’s Seelie Court, takes his job as a psychologist for Portland’s supernatural population extremely seriously. Secrecy is paramount: no non-supe can know of their existence. So when a gods-bedamned human shows up to replace his office manager, he intends to send the man packing. It shouldn’t be difficult—in the two hundred years since he was cursed, no human has ever failed to run screaming from his hideous face.
But cheeky David isn’t intimidated, and despite himself, Alun is drawn to David in a way that can only spell disaster: when fae consort with humans, it never ends well. And if the human has secrets of his own? The disaster might be greater than either of them could ever imagine.

That sure is a cute cover! 😉
Congrats on your upcoming release, EJ – looking forward to it.
The clock in the cover can easily be seen as one of the accessories in the office-esque setup but it’s actually relevant to this story ’cause like David’s temp work & his & Alun’s budding connection to each other, they were like all borrowed in TIME. ^_^
Great insight, James!
Congratulations on the release, EJ. That’s a great cover. I love the mix of ancient and modern on the background

This sounds like a fun read. And the cover is cute.
I love the modern take on ‘Beauty and the Beast.’ Plus the supernatural feature sounds so good. I love that the ‘hero’ has his first ‘comeuppance’ in 200 years! In addition, that is a really great cover!
I love this cover, he’s so cute and it perfectly matches the book title! 🙂

I’m a huge fan of B&B themes and retellings and I’ve been looking forward to this one.
This sounds entertaining – just the type of story I love. ☺
I am a sucker for any Beauty and the Beast story so I can’t wait to read this one.
Preordered!
Thank you, Bretton!
Congrats on a great cover, and he is indeed a cutie, bow tie and all. Any significance to 5:40 on the clock? BTW, I’m a psychologist myself, but not for the supernatural :-). That’ll make this even more interesting.
No, the time itself is not particularly significant–although the clinic hours are from two until ten PM–to accommodate those supernatural clients who can only come out at night!
Congrats on the new release =) Love the cover it.
Love the cover! And the book sounds great too!
The cover doesn’t give away much, but the blurb sounds interesting. Will definitely give it a try, when it comes out!
