Ko Takao never saw himself as a business mogul. After his father’s death, Ko inherits Hansamu, a clothing company that caters to the man who love looking dashing. From handmade suites to loungewear, they are at the top of their game and Ko is looking to keep it that way by finding the perfect face to front the label. REVIEW:
This is the 3rd book in the Intoxication series and tells Jackson’s story. This is Darius Stark’s nephew. Remember, he was featured in the first book in the series as a teenager. Well, it’s a decade later and Jackson is all grown up. He’s a fascinating character: he’s this genius video game designer/professional dancer/model. His true passion is dancing but he’s currently working at his uncle’s electronics firm in between auditions when he gets the offer to model for Hansamu, a high end Japanese clothing line. This is when he sees and finally meets Hansamu’s very handsome CEO/owner Ko Takao.
Ko took over the company after the death of his father. He never envisioned himself as the CEO but determined to honor preserve his father’s legacy, he uneasily steps into the role after his death. He lays eyes on his company’s newest model’s photo and the attraction is instant. The attraction becomes more intense between the two men when they meet in person.
I like this author’s stories. They’re nice and easy reads. There’s not any unnecessary drama that drives the storyline. Her stories are all about telling these men’s stories; their journeys to happily ever after.
This particular book, like the others was quite good; I enjoy the series. The lead characters are intriguing, smart, successful and sexy. The few surrounding characters are also interesting. This book has a few editing hiccups but not so much that it distracted me from the story, though.
I also like the fact that this series feature black and Asian men, two races that are extremely underrepresented in this genre. I really appreciate this author featuring POC in her works. With this author I know going in that I’m not going to read any characters stereotyped and any other nonsense. I enjoyed this book a great deal and I look forward to reading the next one.
