As a stunningly attractive man and the owner of a successful chain of auto repair garages, Trevor is used to attention, adoration, and getting what he wants. What he wants tends to be passionate, no-strings-attached flings with men he meets in clubs. He doesn’t expect anything different when he sets his sights on James. Imagine his surprise when the charm that normally brings men to their knees fails to impress. Trevor will need to drop the routine and connect with James on a meaningful level. He starts by offering to take James home instead of James riding home with his intoxicated friend.
For James, losing his sight at a young age meant limited opportunities for social interaction. Spending most of his time working at a school for the blind has left him unfamiliar with Trevor’s world, but James has fought hard for his independence, and he knows what he wants. Right now, that means stepping outside his comfort zone and into Trevor’s heart.
Trevor is also open to exploring real love and commitment for a change, but before he can be the man James needs him to be, he’ll have to deal with the pain of his past.
REVIEW:
Trevor is used to attention, adoration and getting any man he wants, that is until he meets James at the club. James has had very limited opportunities for social interaction since losing his sight when he was at a very young age. Even though James is an incredibly good-looking man he is unaware of it. As soon as Trevor sets eyes on James there’s just something about him that makes Trevor want to hold him, protect him and love him.
Trevor has never had any problem finding a willing body for a bit fun and normally when he meets up with his friends to hit the clubs he never leaves on his own. The night he meets James starts out the same as any other, he arrives at the club and everything changes, nothing is the same as it usually is. He can’t stop watching the gorgeous guy sitting by himself and he’s not interested in anyone else in the club. Trevor goes to talk to him and can’t work out why he’s not responding like all the other men who fall over themselves to be with him. Then Trevor learns that James is blind and everything changes, all his protective instincts come to the fore.
After he meets Trevor and finds out a bit about him, like what a player he is, James is baffled as to why someone of Trevor’s calibre would be interested in a blind nobody like him. Trevor is falling hard and fast for James but he can’t read him to find out how James feels about him. James feels safe with Trevor and he doesn’t feel safe with many people. Even when Trevor takes him for a ride on his Harley James is overjoyed rather than scared. It was wonderful for James how Trevor never treated him something fragile just because he can’t see.
Both men have a lot to learn about relationships. Trevor has never wanted a relationship after he had his heart broken when he was a teen and James has only ever had one boyfriend, a person his mother paid to go out with him. When he wouldn’t talk to his father to get him a job James ex turned mean and nasty, he would move things around so James would trip, fall and spill things. In fact, James ex destroyed his confidence so much that he is surprised when Trevor doesn’t turn tail and run when it becomes apparent that James needs more attention than a sighted person. While Trevor is going through a very stressful issue at work he must learn to lean on someone else, not keep everything to himself and brood about it. It’s not easy for Trevor and James everything about relationships is alien to both yet neither one is willing to walk away.
I have no hesitation in recommending Heart Unseen to all m/m romance lovers and Andrew Grey fans!! Andrew is going from strength to strength and with this book he has got a winner! You will want to get a copy to find out a few of the difficulties blind people have living in a sighted world trying to work, live and love on their terms not everyone else’s.
