But Riley has a secret. He’s an alpha werewolf without a mate. He needs an omega, but all he wants is his human best friend. Seth’s return is a second chance for Riley to reveal his feelings—and his secret—if he dares.
Now best friends find themselves on opposite sides, and their secrets might just tear them apart. But when Seth’s attacker strikes again, Seth and Riley need each other more than ever to survive.
Hunter Omega is a standalone M/M paranormal alpha/omega werewolf romance with no cliffhangers.
BECCA’S REVIEW:
Hunter Omega is the first of Liv Rider’s books I have read and I enjoyed it. One of my favorite tropes is the alpha/omega pairing and this one didn’t disappoint. For me, it drew me in and I couldn’t put the book down. I had to know what happened next.
Even though the book is about werewolves, the characters are so real. Like you are reading about your best friend. The characters make you emotional. Seth is quiet and shy and has been through so much that you want to wrap him in a bubble and protect him. He’s trying so hard to be strong and brave. He’s a perfect Omega; doesn’t like conflict but has a strength that makes him formidable.
On the other hand, Riley is the perfect alpha; strong and a leader. He’s protective of Seth in every way. But because he tries to protect Seth, he keeps Seth from the truth and that hurts their relationship. Yet you still sympathize with him because you know he just wants to keep Seth safe. Especially after he saw the scars.
Seth is trying to hunt down a werewolf who hurt him, while coming back to his home town. For reasons he doesn’t know, this rogue werewolf has led him back there and to the only man he’s ever loved. Seth’s also trying to protect Riley. Little does he know that Riley knows more about what is going on than Seth himself knows. While reading, you get hooked wondering: does Seth hunt down the bad werewolf? Does he protect Riley? Do Riley and Seth finally tell each other their secrets, especially the one Riley has been hiding from Seth since they met as teens?
I really enjoyed this book and recommend it to anyone who loves alpha/omegas or werewolves. The writing was well done. I felt I could just read through and keep going without having to stop and figure out what something meant. Be prepared for ups and downs and twists and turns!

CAROLINE’S REVIEW:
Hunter Omega is one of those stories that throws you into the action from the beginning. I felt as though I was missing a bit of the back story during the first few chapters, in fact I actually checked to make sure I wasn’t reading part of a series and that I had missed the beginning of Riley and Seth’s story in a previous book. It does become clearer a bit further on when you realise that Seth and Riley, who were childhood best friends, were also mates but Seth knew nothing about werewolves and Riley was too scared to tell him.
Roll forward a few years and Seth has finished college but that isn’t the only knowledge he has gained; he is now more than aware of werewolves because he ended up dating a bad one and getting attacked. He is armed to the hilt with everything silver and returning to his home town to try and kill a rogue that is going round attacking people. Of course he runs into his old friend and crush Riley who has remained in town because that’s where his pack is, of course old feelings still run deep and of course there is no way Riley can continue without letting Seth know who and what he is. That little piece of information goes down like a lead balloon as Seth sees all werewolves as monsters and it leaves him struggling with the question of how he can be in love with one.
Seth has devoted everything for the last few months of his life to tracking down the rogue that he is left blindsided by his strong feelings for Riley when they are finally back in each other’s lives. This is further compounded when he is attacked once again and this attack looks set to change everything he knows and believes in and leaves him struggling with what he wants and what he believes. Riley is being pulled strongly towards Seth as his wolf recognises his mate and wants to claim him but he is an absolute gent and gives Seth the time and space he needs. Once Seth admits he wants him though all bets are off and this author can write hot steam! I really enjoyed my first book by Liv Tyler and I look forward to reading more from this author.
