In the final chapter of the Ember Peak series, Tru and Jones face an unexpected challenge on their road to happy ever after.
Tru and Jones never expected riding off into the sunset to be easy. Their relationship’s script has never been silver-screen smooth or shiny. But dealing with life’s boulders, washouts, and irksome little details seems downright easy now…because they’re facing each bump in the road together.
But when Tru’s sister announces she wants—and desperately needs—him and Jones to adopt her baby, the new couple’s notions of family, home, their upcoming marriage, and even living at Ember Peak are flung into chaos.
They’ve defined themselves as lovers, partners, and future husbands—but are they ready, and do they even want to be, fathers? If they are to form a forever family, Tru and Jones will have to help each other navigate a new path they never expected to travel.
REVIEW:
There is something so damn delicious and addicting about Jones and Tru. From the beginning of this series I adored these two characters together. All the many differences they had but when they were together it all just fit and made sense. In Tru Flame, the rightness of Tru and Jones as a couple was proven even more true as they were thrown a huge curveball that could have derailed their happily ever after.
In Book 3 of the Ember Peak series Tru and Jones are more settled than ever. Everything seems to be falling into place and they couldn’t be happier. On top of that they both welcomed the newest addition to their family, Tru’s sister Sandra’s new son with open arms.
Unfortunately Sandra mental health isn’t as stable as they thought and she decides to leave the baby in the care of Tru and Jones (which I will admit to hating her for.) I understand that she couldn’t take care of the baby but she should have talked with Tru and Jones about it before she took off. That’s my only real issue with the story.
Thrown into parenthood wasn’t something Tru ever imagined for himself or Jones so he has to grow accustoms to the new responsibility and that’s proving difficult.
Jones takes to fatherhood naturally but he’s angry and Tru for not adapting quick enough.
Both men love the baby but need to figure out how to work together as a family.
One thing that doesn’t change is how damn HOT Tru and Jones are for each other. Their sex is explosive and passionate every time. You can feel the love both these men have for the other with every touch or caress. When things get difficult they know they need to connect and they know exactly how to do it.
I’ve loved these stories so much and this author is amazing.
I definitely recommend this series.
