Jamie’s life is one big financial mess, and it really isn’t his fault. However, the last thing he expected to find in the library was a Good Samaritan. He might have been suspicious of Guy’s motives at first, but it soon becomes apparent that his savior is a good man who has been lucky in life and is looking to pay it forward. Guy being gay is not a problem. Jamie’s not interested… or so he thinks.
Guy is happy to help Jamie, and the two men get along fine. But when Jamie’s curiosity leads him from one thing to another, Guy finds himself looking at the young man with new eyes. What started out as a hand up is now something completely different….
REVIEW:
I have read and enjoyed my fair share of K.c. Wells’ amazing books but honestly, Step by Step is hands down my favorite of all. I enjoyed every minute of this book and now I am nursing a serious book hangover. My heart is filled with all the great warm and fuzzy feels and I can’t stop smiling.
This is a wonderful example of a May December romance as Jamie is just turning 21 and Guy is in his late thirties. The whole scenario gives this story a real fairy tale feel and no matter how uncommon their situation is, we can get lost in a wonderful tale and root for two great guys to find happiness.
The writing is flawless as always and the story flows with such elegance that I couldn’t stop reading.
I fell in love with both main characters in a heartbeat. I really enjoyed the double third person POV, which gives great insight into both of our MCs’ heads and hearts.
I love how both Guy and Jamie discover their own feelings step by step. The background stories are wonderfully woven into the plotline and the secondary characters help to create a familiar, friendly atmosphere and add an extra layer of lovable to the story. Both Guy and Jamie have awesome friends, who help them along the way with their unexpected feelings.
I love that there is no unnecessary complication, no extra conflict. We get some inner struggles and some real, lifelike everyday family conflicts, but nothing is overdone and the building relationship and deepening feelings between our MCs are never questioned.
Their chemistry is over the top. I love how sensual they are with each other. The intimate details are wonderfully written and their first and second kisses are simply magical. All their sexy-time is amazing additions to the story, an inevitable part of their building attraction. Their deepening connection gives the core of the story and I truly enjoyed the pace, the slow burn and building tension, how Guy and Jamie discover their attraction, their true desires towards each other.
This is a wonderful love story you should not miss. Highly recommended.

Born and raised in the north-west of England, K.C. WELLS always loved writing. Words were important. Full stop. However, when childhood gave way to adulthood, the writing ceased, as life got in the way. K.C. discovered erotic fiction in 2009, when the purchase of a ménage storyline led to the startling discovery that reading about men in love was damn hot. In 2012, arriving at a really low point in life led to the desperate need to do something creative. An even bigger discovery waited in the wings—writing about men in love was even hotter….
K.C. now writes full-time and is loving every minute of her new career. The laptop still has no idea of what hit it… it only knows that it wants a rest, please. And it now has to get used to the idea that where K.C goes, it goes.
And as for those men in love that she writes about? The list of stories just waiting to be written is getting longer… and longer….
K.C. loves to hear from readers.

I just finished this and loved it as well. Sometimes it is nice to have a quick and easy read without all the angst. Is this a stand alone? I don’t want to give away a spoiler, but there was something bugging a character at the end of the book and we never found out what it was. Thanks for the review.
