Special Agent John Flynn is everything Jerry Parker is not: dangerously handsome, coolly charismatic, and respected by his peers. Special Agent Parker is dedicated and meticulous, but his abrasive personality has given him a reputation for being difficult. When new information on a cold case appears, Parker is assigned to work with Flynn, and the sparks fly as their investigative styles clash. Contact with a strange artefact changes everything when it bestows unusual and unpredictable powers on Flynn… and the two men must learn to trust each other before a killer strikes again.

REVIEW:
Special Agent Jerry Parker is a FBI agent. Jerry has an eidetic memory which has been both a godsend and a hindrance in his job. On the one hand, it helps when Jerry must gather information on a case, on the other hand because Jerry is so good at gathering information he is always being reassigned cases just as his current case is winding up and he never gets to go out in the field. The one thing that Jerry has the most problems with is when he looks at crime scene photos he can’t ever unseen them, they’re always with him and he must constantly push the images to the background of his mind.
Jerry has just been reassigned again, this time he has to work with Special Agent John Flynn from the Washington DC office. Flynn has returned to San Francisco to interview a potential witness in the Grimm Fairy Tale cold case. Flynn worked the case when the killer was active several years ago but was sent back to DC when he went quiet. When Flynn and Jerry meet it’s opposites attracting, except Flynn is straight. Jerry has a hard time accepting Flynn as a partner and as such he tends to be very sarcastic toward him.
Things don’t go as planned and Flynn ends up staying with Jerry which creates a lot of tension for Jerry. They’re on the case when Flynn touches an ancient artefact and feels a surge of power rushing through him, when he comes to Flynn can hear the thoughts of everyone around him and it’s incredibly overwhelming for him. Jerry has to then take care of Flynn, work the case pretty much single-handed and deal with the homophobic idiot at the office.
I urge you to get a copy of Unspeakable Words so you too can discover what Jerry goes through as a gay FBI agent having to work with homophobic idiots and others who just don’t understand him. Then you’ve got John Flynn, John has always been straight until he works with Jerry and they form a connection that’s closer than anything either of them have ever felt. Is their relationship only because John touched the artefact? Is John’s telepathy as well as his feelings for Jerry going to go fade away? You have to read The Sixth Sense series to find out the answers! I am looking forward to the next two instalments in this series.
