With no answers and a weapon of mass destruction slung around his neck, Gage Crosse is left with little choice but to travel with Joey Mosely to New York, seeking aid from the Order Council itself. Little do they know that they are about to embark on what may be the greatest adventure of their lives: to find the mysterious Seal of Solomon.
Meanwhile, the fragile threads holding the demon army and its monstrous allies together are unraveling. Keli must act quickly to maintain her position as ruler, else have all their efforts fall into the flames of ruin.
Can the Journeymen keep the Seal of Solomon out of demon hands, or will the Noctis succeed in wrenching all three artifacts from their control?
REVIEW:
The action and excitement picks up right where it left off as Gage flees his family home. Though he is returning without Adrienne, he has gained the first seal consisting of a necklace and charm. He also has with him the papers and items from his father’s basement which he hopes Joey can make some sense of. He now knows a tiny bit more about the rest of the seals, and so the search is on to find the rest before the demons beat them to it.
Gage and Joey don’t have too much time to mourn the loss of Adrienne before they make their way to New York in order to confront the Journeymen council and try to seek their help. With the team down to the two men, even though Joey seemed okay with Gage and Adrienne, he still held out hope for himself. But, again, there isn’t much time for romance while there are battles to wage and seals to be found.
This installment is full of twists and interesting characters. Mr. Czermac is a fabulous world builder – extremely creative with vivid and well thought out scenes. Things are getting a bit more intricate as the journey continues to not only figure out what the other seals are but to obtain them as well. At least the counsel now seems to be on board, though there are some betrayals at work.
I won’t give anything away about the relationships, but suffice to say there is some development and closure where our main characters are concerned. I do love Gage, but Joey quickly worked his way into my heart, and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for him. If you love paranormal stories with a side of romance, be sure to pick this series up. I can’t wait to read the next installment to see what happens next!
