REVIEW:
This particular genre, m/m/f – triad –bisexual, is pretty rare to come up and my all-time favorite genre – hands down, so I knew I had to grab it!
Reeve Jenkins meets the handsome Grant McGuire at the little bar Reeve is preforming at. It is instant chemistry between these two, especially when they discover that they are both bisexual. Sparks fly with these two and they can’t even make it from the kitchen to the bedroom at Reeve’s small apartment their first time. That is where they also discovered that they are not only bisexual but also switches. A definite win-win in both men’s books. The first two chapters cover both men getting to know each other better. Fast forward three years. Reeve is sitting in a bar waiting for Grant to show up. He is flirting with the beautiful bartender/bar owner, Rachael Bradford. She isn’t sure exactly what to think when Grant shows up and it is obvious that the two men are “together”. She is in for the surprise of her life when she figures out what exactly these two men, who are eyeing her up and down, want from her. “Three Shots” is the story of how a couple of guys meet up, make a great friendship and then discover that “certain someone” that they realize is their missing something for a fabulous relationship.
I believe that, even though I was very fond of both men, Reeve’s just endeared himself a bit more. Partly because he was so easy going yet pursued what he wanted when he saw something he liked. Grant had just came off a bad break-up the first night they met but his reluctance to form a more concrete relationship after three years was a little concerning. Enter Rachael. You could tell that Reeve was immediately into her. And Grant’s desire to experience threesomes made it obvious where this was going. Thankfully Reeve is in control of this desires and worked his magic for all three’s sake. And let me tell you, Rachael is one lucky lady!!!
This novella had a great plot line. Man meets man, men hook up, men establish a non-committed relationship of sorts, men meet “the woman” to cement their relationship and take it to the next level. My problem is that it ends just when they get to the point where their story really begins! I know it is designed as a short story. I get that but I feel like I was lead to a point and just dropped. I don’t know if there are plans for the next level of this story or not but it is needed in my humble opinion. At the very least an epilogue would have been nice. Very good story but falls short in the end. I would have rated it much higher if we had a conclusion.
