Gavin Mitchel has resigned himself to a lonely and unfulfilling love life, but his first meeting with Ryker Hudson is as steamy as it is random, which is precisely the way Ryker likes it. Their second meeting, while equally random, is beyond awkward.
Although a fourteen-year age difference stands in their way, a much larger obstacle is also blocking their path. Together, Ryker and Gavin must find the strength to overcome the roadblocks or bid farewell to their happily ever after.
**This is a male/male romance meant for ages 18+ due to adult language and situations.**

Would you like to know a secret about me?
I am constantly worried about offending people or making someone angry. Now, this doesn’t apply to my approach to my own children or my students. This fear only applies to my colleagues, peers, friends, acquaintances, etc.
Why am I like this? I really don’t know. It’s just a part of my charming personality I guess.
So, when I recently inadvertently offended a couple people, I immediately felt sick to my stomach. Then I felt defensive. I felt attacked. I hated it.
Even after apologizing for the accidental offense and explaining what I had meant (you know how words in your mind may mean/sound different to YOU than they come across to others? Yeah, that’s what happened.) I still felt bad, and I still felt defensive. These few people were jumping all over me for our different outlooks and perception of something. If these people knew me, they’d know I’d NEVER purposely try to offend someone. But, as is the norm for social media, those angry with me didn’t know a single thing about me, and it sucked.
BUT…now that I took time to listen to their outlooks, experiences, and perceptions on the topic, I am better able to understand their point of view. Now, does that mean I now think I purposely offended them or meant to hurt anyone? Of course not.
I’m actually glad this sucky situation happened. Well, that’s not completely true. I would have rather the situation not have happened at all. But, it did, and I took it as an opportunity to learn and expand my understanding. I can appreciate differing opinions and views on things. I am happy to say I’m always learning.
I still hate upsetting people or thinking anyone is mad at me. But, I was able to take a very uncomfortable situation and turn it into a positive just by humbling myself and keeping an open mind.
And, I now have an updated perception and view of a few things. That seems like a win to me.

A.D. Ellis spends the majority of her days loving and wrangling two school-aged children and a husband before heading to the inner city of Indiana to teach a challenging group of alternative education students in grades third through sixth. Most days she hits the gym after school in hopes of running and lifting away the stress and headaches of the day before picking up her children and squeezing a whole day’s worth of loving and living into the too-short hours before bed. It’s no wonder Ms. Ellis lives for the slower, easier days she gets to enjoy on breaks from school.
Growing up in a small farming town in southern Indiana, A.D. is grateful to her mother for passing along the love of reading. With her nose constantly stuck in a book, Ms. Ellis became accustomed to friends and acquaintances snickering and shaking their heads at her love of reading.
A.D. never dreamed of being anything but a teacher, although there are certain times of the year when she laments her career choice. Ms. Ellis had a story idea floating in her head for about a year. After persistent prodding from a friend, A.D. put pen to paper and began writing her first story in October 2013. From that moment on, she was hooked. Taking the people and stories from her head and sharing them with readers is a scary, exhausting, rewarding, and fulfilling experience which A.D. plans to continue until there are no more stories banging around in her mind.

I am a very straightforward talker, so I tend to offend people easily… Then I have to spend a lot of time apologising and explaining what I really meant… It is an awkward situation, but after forty years of slips, I’m quite used to it by now…
Congratulations on the release, A.D. It sounds really good
