Aaron has spent the past ten months alone. When he meets a sad, yet strangely familiar man on a cold Halloween night, he impulsively invites him home. But the intimate connection they share lasts only until morning. Aaron wakes up alone—wracked with guilt and devastated to have lost his chance.
Or so he thinks.
Thanksgiving brings Aaron another shot at happiness, but letting go of an old love and accepting a new one isn’t as easy as everyone keeps telling him. And by the time Christmas Eve rolls around, it becomes clear that Aaron’s not the only one struggling to let himself love again.
Christmas miracles are all well and good, but it’s going to take more than the Holiday Spirit for Aaron to get his happy ever after.
A story of grief, sadness, and letting it go; and finding love when you least expect it.
REVIEW:
‘Tis the Season is about two men who are alone, lonely, hurting and not sure if they want to face this Christmas alone.
Aaron’s husband John died ten months ago and he’s struggling with his grief. Although he has managed to return to work Aaron still frequents the little bar he found whilst lost. On his way, home one night Aaron sees a shape moving in the shadow of the bridge he was walking across. Instead of putting his head down and walking on like he normally would for some reason Aaron went over to make sure the person was alright. What he finds is a young man who looks like he’s on the verge of jumping. When he opens his mouth to say something what comes out is not what he was expecting! Aaron end up yelling “nut’s”, {he blames it on the amount of whiskey he’s had to drink!} and although it wasn’t what he was intending to say it worked, the man looked up and started talking to him. After introducing themselves, using fake names of course! Aaron “Clarence” invited Dylan “George” to go for coffee.
Dylan has recently broken up with his boyfriend of two years when said boyfriend decided he wanted to date someone else and as Dylan lived in his boyfriends place he had to move out! Because his boyfriend was his boss he has also lost his job so, now Dylan is homeless and jobless! Dylan was staying with a friend except his friends girlfriend come back earlier than expected so he had to leave because they want “alone time”. As it’s Halloween everyone he knows is out partying so now he’s got nowhere to go.
After coffee and pie Aaron invites “George” back to his place for the night because he can’t stand the thought of him being alone. After spending the night together they don’t see each other for several weeks.
Aaron is spending Thanksgiving alone this year and while he’s at the grocery getting food he runs into “George”. After learning that “Clarence” is spending the day alone, Dylan talks him into going with him to his brother’s house for dinner. Whilst they’re spending the day together Aaron learns a lot more about Dylan than he thought he would. Aaron learnt that Dylan was the bartender at the club his husband loved going to and that his ex was an abusive asshole who used Dylan and made him believe it was all his fault. Then he learns that Dylan was in fact going to jump and the only reason he was turned around was because of his meeting with Aaron.
You are definitely going to want to read ‘Tis the Season yourself to find out what happens with Aaron and Dylan, do they start a relationship or do they spend Thanksgiving together only to go their separate ways? You won’t regret finding out!!
