Nolan Carmichael is getting a fresh start—new career, new company, new life. The only problem is, he liked his old life just fine . . . until an accident robbed him of his health, his job, his self-confidence, and his ability to go out in public without having anxiety attacks.
Zack Anderson has scared away his last four executive assistants. So, when he hires Nolan on a whim, he’s not too worried, since Nolan will be gone within the week anyway. Two weeks later, Nolan has made himself indispensable, completely reforming Zack’s schedule, life . . . and libido.
But in a company already torn by internal politics, one wrong step could ruin both their careers. And not only are they working to reopen Ringside Gym, Zack’s retreat when he was a troubled teen, but they also can’t help themselves falling for each other. If only the rest of their lives could go as smoothly as things do when they’re alone together.
REVIEW:
Two years ago, Nolan Carmichael was in a particularly nasty car accident that left him with numerous physical and mental scars. When Nolan left the hospital, he moved in with his sister Tina as she is about the only person who can calm him down and bring him out of his many panic attacks. Nolan has secured the position of Executive Assistant to Zack Anderson the CTO for Compass, now he just needs to last longer than the two weeks that the majority of all his other assistants have lasted.
Zack Anderson hates having an assistant. He hates being micromanaged and he especially hates having someone involved in his business all the time. After he hires his new assistant Nolan Carmichael, Zack isn’t sure what exactly came over him when he said he was hired. But, he did so he decides to let him either prove himself or he’ll be gone within the next several weeks.
To Nolan’s surprise he settles into his job and feels like he’s actually accomplishing something with his life now. The longer they work together, the more time they spend together the closer Nolan and Zack become. Zack doesn’t realise how much he’s come to depend on Nolan until it’s too late. When Zack thought about it he realises how easily Nolan has situated himself into Zack’s life both at work and outside. This is when Zack decides to take a chance and confide in Nolan about his childhood, he even takes Nolan to the gym Ringside, which he practically grew up in. As Nolan listens to Zack talk about Ringside the fact that he and friends have bought it and they’re currently trying to get investors to fund the rebuilding of it he realises that this is a project he can sink his teeth into and comes on board as project manager.
Things go from busy but enjoyable in their lives to hectic and strange when Zack gets some news he’s been hoping not to hear, he has to fire people from his team. This throws Zack into turmoil because to him his team are practically his family. I can’t urge you enough to get your copy of Working It, you won’t be disappointed! Now that I’ve read the first instalment in the Ringside Romance series I can’t wait for the next book.
Christine d’Abo has definitely got a winning series in A Ringside Romance!!
