I do like a little shifter fun!
This is a nice little story of Aleks the stripper/cat shifter, and Rafe the business man/cat shifter. The two meet one night at the club Aleks dances at, and make a connection. They meet for dinner a few days later, and Aleks gets even more than he hoped for. But things can’t go smoothly…
Hot Tin Roof is short, fun, and naughty. It takes place over a short period of time, and is really just the beginning of the story for Aleks and Rafe. I liked both of them as characters, Aleks is shy and sweet, but has a naughty streak. Rafe is bold and a little cold, the big fancy business man, who wants to dominate the little cat shifter he finds. I liked the sex, there’s not a lot in such a short story, but what there is, is hot and fun. A little D/s, just a hint of how these two could be. There isn’t much plot development in only 45 pages, but what we do get works. There’s even a little conflict to keep it interesting. It’s certainly insta-love, but that’s ok, again, it’s only 45 pages. It’s got to be quick and to the point!
It’s been a while since I read a book by Julia Talbot, and I think I’ve missed her! This was a nice way to spend a bit of time, diving in to a new shifter world. I know there is another book in this series, I hope we’ll see more in the future!
