Jude: Reaching the top of the country music charts brings out the crazy, and there’s no one crazier than my ex. Unfortunately, his threats to out me are escalating. Enter the bodyguard of my dreams.
I’d probably chafe under his constant presence if his attention to my body wasn’t so… ah… thorough. Now I have to worry about outing myself to millions of fans if I can’t keep my hands off him in public.
Derek: Now I’m an ex-Marine turned babysitter. If I have to hear Jude sing his mega-hit Bluebells one more time, I might murder him myself, and after 6 years in special ops, I know my way around a weapon. Unfortunately, so does he. Except his arsenal includes washboard abs and a killer set of pipes.
I’ve faced guns, knives, explosives and yet it’s Jude Marian who may end up bringing me to my knees.
Fair warning: Jude and Derek’s story contains frequent detailed scenes of man parts touching, little old ladies being inappropriate, and two lonely hearts coming together in perfect harmony.
REVIEW by Kimberley
This is the third book in the Made Marian series and tells the story of the youngest Marian man, famous country music star Jude Marian.
Jude Marian, the sexy singer of the country music band, Jude and the Saints is surrounded by adoring fans yet he’s lonely. He’s rich and famous but he’s in the closet and this is the main source of his loneliness. He can’t even have a relationship in secret for fear of being blackmailed or outed to the press. Him being gay wouldn’t be an issue in the pop/rock music scene but this is country music and that audience may not be as accepting or open minded about his sexuality. So instead of taking the risk, he decided to stay in the closet. Another reason for the decision to remain single and celibate is to avoid having his heart broken again.
Derek Wolf is Jude’s bodyguard. He’s always there, the silent big man in the background there to protect Jude. They both sing out that they share something in common and both give in to their strong mutual attention to each other. They both agree that it was to be a no strings attached sexual relationship but the former Marine turned bodyguard ended up falling for the superstar despite his best efforts.
Although this seems to be a running theme with all of the Marian men’s love lives, each book gives a fresh take on each story. I love this book just as much as I do the others in the series. There is passion between the two men and not just sexual. The author has a way of writing her characters as such that the chemistry between the two men practically leaps from the pages. I am usually not into books featuring musicians (not sure why, it’s just a thing) but I looked past it to read this book. I am ever so glad that I did.
I absolutely adore the characters in this series. The Marian clan is filled with so much love and life that they alone make the books worth the read. The little old ladies (Aunt Tilly and Tristan’s granny), even though not featured as much in this book as they were in the first will keep you in stitches as the are a constant source of humor.
I have become a fan of this author’s work. Her debut book was excellent and as the series progresses and it continues to get better. I truly recommend this author and this series.
REVIEW by Christie
Having read the previous two books in the Made Marian Series (Borrowing Blue and Taming Teddy), I jumped at the chance to get my hands on Jumping Jude, and couldn’t have been more delighted with it. This book was everything.
Country singer extraordinaire, Jude Marian, is sexy, unbelievably talented, and has a secret ex who has been making some rather serious threats as of late. Oh yeah, Jude is closeted and his ex is a man. So, needless to say, he decides to hire a bodyguard. Queue Derek Wolfe, hotter than hot ex-marine turned bodyguard. Being hired to protect the famous singer, Jude Marian, may just be the hardest mission of his life.
Derek keeps a watchful eye on Jude and keeps him safe from a distance, always. And Jude has come to rely on Derek’s protective and comforting presence wherever he is. Neither man knows that the other is closeted and attracted to the other. That is, until Jude’s ex’s threats become hard to ignore. Now, Jude feels forced to come out to the world. Unfortunately, that would put Derek in the spotlight as well. But he is not yet ready to come out.
Okay, every single one of Lucy Lennox’s books in the Made Marian series have been phenomenal so far. Jumping Jude is absolutely no different. This book is sweet, heart wrenching, and so very sexy. I laughed. I cried. And, I even cheered at the end. Jude and Derek’s story got me right in the feels so hard. As with Blue & Tristan and Jamie & Teddy, Jude and Derek are absolutely perfect together.
I cannot wait to read more of what Lucy Lennox has in store for us fans of the Made Marian series.
