BLURB:
The Christmas Eve wedding Evan Cleary pulled together in four weeks is crashing down around him and taking his fledgling event planning business with it. With an empty altar and over a hundred guests arriving soon, he turns to the resistant, gorgeous brother of the runaway groom for help.
When Richard Patterson’s flamboyant brother storms out hours before he’s scheduled to marry his equally dramatic partner, Richard is left dealing with the fallout. The last thing he wants is more drama, yet he can’t deny his attraction to the effeminate event planner trying to salvage the wedding.
Evan thinks his crush on Richard is a lost cause, but one steaming kiss later, he learns different. What starts as a night of hot sex turns into a connection neither expected. But Evan knows their relationship is hopeless unless the ultra-conservative Richard can embrace every part of him – both in private and in public.
REVIEW:
Okay, when looking for a quick listen to cleanse my palette between a couple books, I ran across this little gem. At first I thought it was going to be a cute little bit of fluff, but it turned out to be more. Yes, of course it’s slightly corny (in the best way) but also fun and really cute. I greatly enjoyed listening to Champagne Kisses.
Evan Cleary is a professional event planner, and actually very good at his job. When asked to plan an extravagant wedding in four short weeks, he is stressed but excited to do so since it will help get his name out there to hopefully garner more clients. Until wedding day comes around and it comes to a screeching halt. Well, one of the grooms screeches and the other halts when a vase is thrown at his head and the wedding is called off. So, what is Evan to do with guests just about to arrive, catering setting up, and no grooms? Throw a last minute Christmas party, with the help of Richard Patterson, brother of one of the grooms, of course!
The thing is, Evan is not to sure that ultra conservative looking Richard is willing to help his super flamboyant and swishy self. Can the duo work together to get this party started? What happens when each of them finds out that they’ve been secretly attracted to the other for weeks now?
I highly recommend getting this story! Especially in audiobook form, because Tobias Silversmith’s narration is fantastic and he makes the story such a hoot. This is my first Lynda Aicher story and Tobias Silversmith narration, but it most certainly will not be my last.
