Hello and thank you to Dani and everyone at Love Bytes for having me as a guest today.
Blurb:
The members of the Vampire Guard—Jonas Forge, spy and soldier turned cop; computer hacker extraordinaire Blair Turner; Declan, thief, con man, and ex-pirate; and medical examiner and werewolf Dr. Lucas Coate—face a dangerous and elusive enemy.
And this time, it’s personal.
Over the course of three hundred years, a man has touched each of their lives in ways they are only just realizing. When a hunt for a psychotic killer in the present resurrects memories and clues from the past, they discover how they have been affected and are bound by the existence of a ruthless vampire criminal. Now, while preventing a heist at a high-tech art show and thwarting several large-scale explosions, the team must employ their unique blend of science and supernatural abilities to put an end to the machinations of the man toying with their lives.
This time, he won’t slip through their fingers.
This time, it’s more than a case. It’s a hunt, and Forge, Blair, Declan, and Lucas won’t stop until they’ve captured their quarry.

One of the fun things about writing spies is all the different ways they go about their jobs. This excerpt shows some of the preparation our heroes used to help one of the team convince the bad guy he’s a good ‘business’ partner.
Everyone with the exception of Blair, Forge, and Declan had left to take up their allotted tasks while Forge and Declan prepped Blair for his.
“Put the jacket on and unbutton your top few buttons. No tie, obviously,” Declan instructed. He gave Blair’s jacket a tug, straightening it. “Good thing we added those extra-shady details to the information anyone will be able to dig up on you.”
Forge leaned back against the dresser and crossed his arms in front of himself. He looked Blair up and down. “He needs something else.”
Declan backed up a few steps and rubbed his chin while considering Blair. He nodded. Leaning forward, he ruffled Blair’s hair, then glanced back at Forge.
“Close,” Forge said.
Declan huffed a sigh and looked down at his bag, considering the contents. He apparently saw something because a slow smile spread over his face and his eyebrows rose. Pointing to a spot on the inside of the suitcase top he asked Forge, “Which ones?”
“The thick, black, geeky ones.”
“Stereotypical,” Declan said.
Forge countered, “Isn’t that the point?”
“True,” Declan agreed.
“You guys are creeping me out,” Blair grumbled. He really wanted his nice spot in the surveillance van back.
Declan stepped forward and put the glasses on Blair. He backed up and stood beside Forge, nodding. “I think that’s it.”
“Yep,” Forge said.
Blair threw both hands in the air. “I’m a vampire. The target knows I’m a vampire. He changed me. He’ll know I don’t need glasses.”
“All very true and accurate points. However,” Declan explained, “what you also are is a young man employed in a dead-end job despite your education and talents. Glasses aren’t simply used to correct vision, but to make a personal statement. People wear them who don’t need them because of the image they present. You’re trying to look like a serious, educated, hard worker who deserves a chance despite his past. You’re trying to escape your past and can’t. Don’t forget, you’re out to prove all the people who held you back are wrong.”
“And you’re not getting any of those things. People perceive someone wearing a certain style of glasses as smarter, more trustworthy,” Forge finished. “Do you want to run through this again?”
Blair’s shoulders slumped, and he dropped onto the bed behind him. His gaze fluctuated between Forge and Declan, and he sighed heavily. “I don’t want to be the one who loses this asshole.”
“Blair,” Forge said softly and sat beside him. “We aren’t going to catch everyone. That’s life. This guy has gotten away from me and the FBI twice. He’s no amateur, and I’m sure he’s dodged others over the years. If he gets away, it won’t be your fault.”
“I feel like all of you know what you’re doing, and I’m just fumbling around trying to catch up,” Blair confessed.
“We’ve had a lot of practice, and Lucas has had some training with the police department,” Declan said. “You have a number of skills none of the rest of us do, and frankly, what you can do with a computer mystifies me.”
“I keep telling you, you’ll do just fine.” Forge slipped one arm around Blair’s shoulders and gave him a squeeze. “We can’t fake the type of tech knowledge you have. You’re the only one among us who can pull this off. You get him where we want him, and Declan and I’ll do the rest.”
Elizabeth Noble lives by the adage “I can’t not write”. She can’t remember a time when she didn’t make up stories and eventually she learned how to write them down. A part of every day is spent living in worlds she created that are filled with intrigue and espionage. Using a real love of scifi and urban fantasy highlighted by twisty plots she crafts stories taking place in a slightly altered version of our world.
When she’s not chronicling the adventures of her many characters Elizabeth is a veterinary nurse living in her native Cleveland, Ohio. She shares her little brick house with an adorable canine princess and her tabby cat side-kick. Elizabeth is a fan of baseball, basketball (go Cavs and Indians!) and gardening. She can often be found working in her ‘outside office’ listening to classic rock and plotting her next novel waiting for it to be dark enough to gaze at the stars.
Elizabeth received several amateur writing awards. Since being published, several of her novels have received honorable mentions in the Rainbow Awards. Her novel Jewel Cave was a runner-up in the 2015 Rainbow Awards in the Gay Mystery/Thriller category. Ringed Love was a winner in the Gay Fantasy Romance category of the 2016 Rainbow Awards.
